I feel like Volk has likely just left his prime, not just because of his last two fights ending in knockouts, which definitely doesnt help, but also 35 is just that age where fighters typically start to slow down and become more susceptible to knock outs. Basically, I think Max can win if they fight again, and this time Max would remain the champ, assuming he beats Illia first of course. Dont get me wrong I'm not counting Volk out yet, but bouncing back is not gonna be easy for him. Everyone falls off the top eventually if they stay in the sport, and I think time is against Volk in terms of getting his belt back. He needs a lot of time off to recover, but that also means his body will age further before his next fight.

Bar Volk, nobody at featherweight has been close to Max. Yes, he lost to Volk thrice (2nd fight is debatable), but other than that, no one has really posed him a challenge.
