I prefer smaller kits. They are just less of a pain to setup and mic.

I got a Midtown and gig it everywhere, everything is on memory locks other than the floor tom legs. Great kit!

hey. Been thinking about buying one but i'm not sure if it will fit the genres i play. What genres are you using your kit for?

Pearl Midtown sounds more attacky , more clear, perfect cheap kit but great sound, specially snare drum and bass drum ...

Love the Midtown. When I’m playing it I usually mic it well, and trigger everything with a Roland TM-2, nothing overkill, just to add a small bit of low end into the mix, and open it up a bit more. Great little kit, and paired with a small module like a TM-2, or the Alesis Sample Pad 4/Pro, it can fit nicely into nearly any size gig

does the tm2 trigger all four drums (snare-bass-tom-floor tom) by dividing the 2 stereo inputs into 4 mono ?
@DarthAnubis11384 жыл бұрын
It can do. I use evans hydraulic heads on the batter side of the toms so they sound punchy with lots of low end, so I don’t really trigger them. I usually use a couple of Roland BT-1 trigger bars just for effects

I personally think smaller kits create a unique style of playing you have less drums so u have to be more creative and a bit smarter but hey that's my opinion and I respect yours

That Tama is beautiful and sounds great. As for the comparison, both work for different occasions... I’m not gonna lug my full set of 5 hard cases and a ton of hardware to a cafe for an acoustic set… I’ll save that for a venue. Now looking into the Midtown (some guy is selling one locally) I like the full sound of it with the ease of portability 👍

That 14/9 tom/snare on the bigger kit sounds incredible! Is it available as a stand-alone drum or does it only come with a kit?

I use midtown kit to study inside my house,i have a standard rock kit by sonor,but isn't at home,so during cold winter is difficult practise with it

Smaller kit all the way. Can even fit into a single case if you size it right. Won't require you to buy a new house. Would probably pick different cymbals, though: 20" ride and 16" crash. Maybe 22" ride and 17" or 18" crash, depending on the music and my mood.

Please add notes about the cymbals you were using.

But why do you have to pair small drums with bright unpleasant cymbals?

You don't :)

Thank you for the clarification 😄 I just asked because so many seem to do that with smaller drums. And I don’t get why. Nice video btw.

What type of ride is that above the Tom on the right
@nnuhnoh4 жыл бұрын
#1 thing I like about your video: you start right away and don't drive me insane with blah blah blah. #2 thing: I'm coveting those cymbals! #3 thing: equal back and forth comparison. One suggestion: subtitles on sizes for people like me who are too attention-deficit to remember.

No one should be playing your drumset anyways I like my full-size drumset a four piece is not a full size drumset a five piece or a seven piece is a full size the way I see it is I’m the one that bought the drumset I shouldn’t have to let people play them it’s not fair to me . Plus not everyone knows how to take care of your equipment like you do .

The bigger bass drum sounds deeper and better and I'm not a drummer.
