This, the break-beats have plastic bass drum hoops and worse wood. It's a good drum set but I would pay the extra bit of money and get the Midtown. Take this with a grain of salt though, as I am a heavy Pearl fanatic.

I’ve had both. This for sure. Can’t get a great tune out of the break beats. Loved the kick drum but that’s about it.
