Well done on hitting 3K subs Jason. Your videos just get better with each one. I have to say that the perspective on van life you present is balanced and real. The lack of welcoming campsites by the local councils is sad and will only get worse I'd imagine. That new camera is a beauty and the footage of the waterfalls had my feet tingling...... Aye yay yayyyyyy. Cheers and keep enjoying your free spirited life, Sean.

Thanks Jason for all the sightseeing you took us on and to many waterfalls. I’ve always wanted to see Carrington Falls and you showed me in its magnificent. I did the Gerringong Fall before the restriction was put in place. One of my fav waterfalls to swim in. Took us an hour to get down. Have to get down via a “chimney” manhole though. The walk was hell in the Firetrail on a summers day.

Awesome upload Jason. Since you left Melbourne the winds have been ok. Yesterday was a wet one, huge storm, we have had a few lately. Still snow gere, expected tomorrow out my way at Donna Buang, not the Dandenongs though unfortunately which are closer to me but a top of 10 on Saturday n lots of the same next week with low temps n rain so good timing in heading north. Great views and camera work, those waterfalls were amazing as were the rainforests. Great places to mountain bike it seems. It's great to see things through your lens, thanks for bringing me along.

Enjoying your videos. When i travel i use McDonald's free wifi. Park close enuff and you wont even have to go inside. Sssshh. Lol. In your van do you use your phone for data hotspot? Do you use telstra, do you have recommend plan for most data. Considering what to use when i hit the road next month on a small budget. Perhaps you can include info in next video?
@MakingStuffGoingPlaces2 ай бұрын
You're the second one to ask 😂 Look up Felix mobile plans...just switched to them. They use Vodafone, so coverage not the best but probably OK. Previously on Belong which was good value and Telstra's network. I have a 4g router and wifi in the van. For my phone, I use Aldimobile $119 per year.

Looks like those 'no overnight' signs are going up all over Shoalhaven. Further west there was a known free camp at Oallen Ford on the Shoalhaven river, but now it too has been closed off. To be fair, on the other hand i saw a tourist camper wash his dinner plates using the beach shower leaving lots of food bits and litter. Like many things its the minority that block it for the majority.
@MakingStuffGoingPlaces2 ай бұрын
Agree with you on all counts. Definitely seems to be an increase in signage. Seen it around Sydney as well. Also notice all the long term people living in cars have gone. Hopefully they were helped to get accommodation.

Very entertaining as usual. Don't mean to pry but you mentioned that you budget on $300/week. Is that include saving for rego, insurances etc or just weekly food fuel? Interested as I have similar amount to spend.
@MakingStuffGoingPlaces2 ай бұрын
300 per week is for fuel food and everything else, except rego, insurance and van servicing. That adds another 3k per year, roughly.

Hi Jason, are you familiar with a TV ad for Macpac where there a couple of people hanging off a cliff and the only thing that is saving them falling into the abbess is a Macpac? Well, every time you say "Precarious" I think of the ad, you should be getting paid by Macpac

I am getting that funny feeling in my legs 👀 Very sunny up that way, ND filter territory? There must be a lot of inconsiderate vanners ruining it for everyone or is it just selfish locals not wanting to share their views with gypsies? Have you felt the need for an ebike when you reconnoiter so as not to get stuck? 👍
@MakingStuffGoingPlaces2 ай бұрын
Limited choice for ND filters on the GoPro, unless I upgrade to GoPro 13. Maybe one day. I think locals have a preconceived ideas of messy vanlifers, but reality is very few people live like that....we all get bundled into that undesirable category though.... Just the way we all are. Unconscious bias... I don't need an ebike just yet. I always watch how far I'm riding and makes sure I can get back. Sometimes the return trip can be very slow 😂😂
