Bloody legend! Thank you for this information, I was unsure if it worked the same as a flyscreen or if I had to buy an entire new filter with frame. Thank you!!

Great videos, I find your videos and yourself very helpful. Your advice is very helpful and greatly appreciated. I’m in Australia would you have specific type/brand of filter you would suggest for a daikin ducted reverse cycle system? And if so where to purchase it from?

The side u cut does which way should that face when u put it in ?
@FullyAirconditioned2 жыл бұрын
I face it down, if the filter doesn’t get cleaned it want pull out as the spline in against the frame. I have seen the filter media pull away from the frame, the spline pop out and the air bypasses the filter. This can happen when the filter forgotten about and not cleaned for a long time.
@sphinx51012 жыл бұрын
@@FullyAirconditioned thanks so much I clean it all the time I spray it out with the hose and I change it as well I buy the one from Bunnings and I just change it after summer and Winter when u use it Most

My ducked system is using the same filter in the video Can I change to the throw away paper style filters ? Or u can do that ?

You can do the paper filter if you like, it just becomes a ongoing cost.
@sphinx51012 жыл бұрын
@@FullyAirconditioned so it will not restrict the aircon unit if I change filter ?
@FullyAirconditioned2 жыл бұрын
@@sphinx5101 the paper filters have a bigger pressures loss across them compared to the filter in the video. I reality is should make too much difference but they are more restrictive. The filter is there to protect the coil from blocking up with dust, not to keep the air clean for us. If cleaning the air is what your after I would recommend getting an air purifier rather than more filtration on the air con unit.

Hi There, is this standard filter media as the ones we have are more just like a fly screen, have ducted daikin reverse cycle, is this better/superior to fit to our return air grills?
@FullyAirconditioned2 жыл бұрын
There are different filter media types, the main job is to stop dust blocking up the coil of the air conditioner, the fabric one has a higher dust carrying capacity.
@tomaquilina95982 жыл бұрын
@@FullyAirconditioned thankyou for such a prompt reply sorry for ignorance but could you please explain duct carrying capacity, and would you suggest the fabric is superior for dust protection?does it put unit under more strain to pull air back through?

There is a dark side and a light side to the filter medium. Whic way does it go or doesn’t it matter?
@FullyAirconditioned8 ай бұрын
It doesn’t really matter but generally the course side of the filter media. One side of the fabric generally has a more coarse weave. The incoming air should 1st come in contact with coarse side of the filter media, but it makes very little difference.

Very common with ducted gas, often the never install a filter. It could also have a filter installed up in the indoor unit, possibly more common in homes in the US.

Hi, I got a question about is there a way to change filter type to HEPA filters as my mum have been having allergic reaction problems to pollen, but I am not sure with airflow and thickness wise would be ideal if changed. Any recommendations?

@@蔡浩洋 you would be better off with a stand-alone air purifier like the new daikin one
