@@atrayoufrederick3290 we used water based house paint, semi gloss or low sheen, covered easy, used a roller and brush. Looks go at 20m. We did use turps bases enamel 1st, but it was hard to get a good finish, took much longer and didn’t cover well. One problem is getting stickers to stick to the house paint as it’s designed to be easy cleaned, so getting the stickers to stick was a problem. We ended up buying cheep bulk super glue and just running around the edges of the stickers. Maybe gloss water based paint would be better so the stickers have a better surface to stick too.

@@Spencer_Marchant your Daikin is most probably an older model, I am guessing it doesn’t have a DC fan motor, only an AC fan motor. DC fan motors can have 1000s of speeds as the digital signal generated from the fan driver board dictates the speed. With an AC fan motor it is dependent on how many winding are in the motor. A single phase motor will often only have 4 speeds. The daikin ducted unit with AC fan motors have low-low used when the cooling/heating cycles off and just circulating air. Then you have low high and high-high, two speeds are selectable from the wall controller. Out of the box low and high speed are selectable from the wall controller. There is a jumper block on the indoor units switch box, moving the cable enables the high-high speed. This is hight voltage and should only be done by a aquiflied tradesman.

Transmission Error (between Inverter PCB and Outdoor Unit Main PCB) unfortunately this would require a Daikin service tech, generally it's not a simple fix. You can try resetting the power off and on again at the switchboard, turn off for 30 sec then back on, turn system on at the controller and see if the fault return as normal. If it runs then all good, but of it returns with the LC fault you will need a Daikin tech to have a look at the system. Make sure you actually get some that knows Daikin units as many business out there say they can repair Daikin units but will just try and sell you a new unit.

We recommend replacing the filter media every 3-4 years, to roll in new medis to your old frame we charge $30 to $40 dollars. there is different grade filters media but as the grade increases it gets thicker and often they won't roll onto the frame, the filter media is there to protect the indoor units coil and fan from becoming blocked with dust. if your trying to dust pollen etc in your home it's best done with air purifier that multiply levels of filtration. have a look at the Daikin MC880ZPVM air purifier it's a larger unit for big areas, there are smaller models as well.

UA is a mismatch of indoor unit and outdoor unit, it could also be a faulty PC board on either the indoor or outdoor.

Ok thanks , have you experienced faulty pc boards on brand new units ? And I see I have ftxng18axvju where the most common part number seems to be ftxb18. Would you know the difference between these two. I can’t seem to find anything online . I appreciate your expertise

@@michaelosucha5747 I am not familiar with the units you have we don't have that model here in Australia sorry. If it's not a match pair listed in a brochure then I would say that your problem, mismatch of indoor unit to outdoor unit. Go back to where you purchased it from

Mabe invest in a smart zoning system like the "MyAir zoning system", this can be retrofitted to a Daikin system, it will give you temp control in all zones and the ability to select what sensor is active. You can just leave in automatic and it will set the room with the biggest temp difference from set point as the master to cool that room faster, if the other rooms reach set point the zone will automatically close off stopping the supply of cool air to that room. It's your best bet to give your Daikin more control, you will also have wifi as standard with the myair.

Hi Donna, J3 is a faulty discharge pipe thermistor, its reading outside its range, either open circuit or closed circuit, in the rare case its a faulty pc board (99% of the time it's a thermistor). The thermistor will need replacing, depending on the model it could be a single thermistor that plugs into the pc board or it could be a thermistor harness which will include 5 or 6 thermistors on the one plug. Best to get your local authorised Daikin dealer out to repair it.

I changed batteries on all remotes, turned all the mini splits off over night (there are four) then shut the circuit breaker /power off for about 45 seconds this morning, and everything seems to be working fine now! The code was cleared. Will keep an eye out for a fault /J3 code again but for now I’m warm with fingers crossed. Thank you for your help and great information!

If the fan motor is noisy then it could be faulty bearings in the fan motor, a common fault with all air conditioned, when they are operating the motor and shaft gets cold, when you turn off the system condensation can form on the shaft of the fan motor, over time it gets to the bearings and become noisey

@@angusmcnaughton true, you need moisture for mould, the dust also sticks to the damp fan more in cooling.

@@davidodonovan2142 yes its possible, but you would need to take out the single zone damper in the branch of duct that runs to the two rooms and install 2 smaller zone dampers in each duct to each outlet. Depending on the zone controller type, it will either be 240v zone motors or 24 volt zone motors. The 24v zone dampers use a telephone like cable and any can do it if its 240v you will need to get someone qualified . If you only have two zones at the moment there should be room for 2 more zones as the zone controller has 4 zone ports standard and 8 zone ports if that option is chosen. The zone box is located up in the roof.

@@emellow3583 yep you’re AC unit only has 3 fan speeds, if it had more fan speeds then all 5 would be available from the this controller.

@@sasuke65743 yes the newer models have a two piece bottom frame assembly, the drain tray and louvre assembly are now removable giving good access to the fan. The daikin indoor unit can be stripped down like this on the wall with out removing the gas. Most other brands can’t do this and require the complete removal of the indoor unit. So recovering of the gas, vac out recharging the system again., so there design is actually very good in comparison to most other brands where this can’t be done.

@@darrendesimoni6795 each to their own, many people complain when you have your aircon on over a hot night. When it cools off in the early morning and cooling is not needed the fan will stop saving energy. It also stoping cool air being blown around. When it not needed. We find most people want the fan set to cycle off with the t-stat.

@@FullyAirconditioned musty smell, the drain pipe go to the rain gutter, and it’s hidden behind the lead flashing as the wind was blowing into it and we could hear it in the bedroom.

@@rameshkrishnan1923 is the unit in fault ?? Not working when it’s hot, could be poor installation, vac pump not use when Installing the system. Refrigeration system has air in it causing a high temperature at the compressor tripping the internal compressor thermal overload, could be short of gas causing the same thing.

@@rameshkrishnan1923 start with a new gas charge and achieving a vacuum below 500 microns before charging with new gas.

@@k03nsm33ts I haven’t had to pump one down, but run it in cooling (if units reverse cycle) or defrost (cooling cycle). There is probably a setting on the pc boars that could be set to put it into forced pump down, but I don’t have any documentation if it how it can be done. If gas has been added for the additional length of pipe you may only get it pumped down so far, then recover the remaining gas, weight the recovered gas it so you know how much to add. We would usually weight the recovery unit and gas bottle before and after recovering so we know how much to add. If its cold out side compared to inside the gas will migrate to the outdoor unit then just close off the valves and recover the remaining gas in the pipe work, you may need to put the unit into evacuation mode so it open up all the valves and allows the gas to migrate to the outdoor unit, this will only work if it’s colder that the indoor unit.

@@fanasonyc most problems with air conditioner are installation issues, incorrect size, incorrectly installed and the end user blames the manufacturer. When more often than not it’s the people who installed it that have caused the problems.
