He is speaking of sex - even in the context of marriage - as existing solely for the purpose of procreation. A married couple aren't allowed to just give each other pleasure?

Yeah, sex is not meant soley for creating children. Sex is open to children as a result of it, but it should not be done solely to create kids. So yes, a married couple can do it to show their love to each other, and that involves pleasure and an openess to children

Its aim is to support and love each other husband and wife only. However that love must be open that if they are blessed for God to create life within them that they welcome those gifts God has given a couple. Now there is also certain actions that of they go against the laws of procreation naturally it os forbidden. We know as Catholics that not every single conjugal love automatically will result each time in procreation but at least as Catholics we know that each time we express that love to the Spouse we accept and embrace love and the responsibility of this great blessing God has bestowed upon us. That is why anti-contraceptives or even to naturally use the conjugal love without being accepting in being open to the gift of children is a mortal sin and goes contrary against our faith. This was in two main enciclycals (Aercanum and Casti Conubii) it is not solely for procreation it is also in support and as a means of expression of love. But as I have said that expression of love between spouses they must bear in mind that through their action they must be open to the gift of life. Now if there is people using the natural family planning without consulting their spiritual father due to selfish means it is an abomination. If they can afford expensive cellphones, tv's, high class electronic systems, cars etc. Why can't those specific people be the same as generous to allow God to work in them? You see to be a Catholic is not easy. In Catholicism we follow exactly what Our Lord has prescribed from the book of Genesis to even the current time. Have you not read what Saint Raphael told to Tobias? Catholic, Orthodox, Assyrian and Jewish custom is exactly the same precept in regards to mareiage and procreation. However the only difference is that in Catholicism there is no divorce because we make an oath before God of Our commitment for a lifetime to remain united as long as both spouses are alive.
