To be fair, I can see where his thought process came from. Nicki was acting erratic & putting them all in danger. That coupled with Armand having been socialized/brainwashed to view punishment as a positive thing to teach/improve someone, I can see how from his perspective he was simply taking something away from Nicki & providing him with the motivation to earn it back. And it's absolutely diabolical and batshit, but also, way nicer than the trauma Armand had to go through. Like, I honestly believe he's trying to be fair & not as bad as the people who hurt him in his past... He's just not doing a very good job of it because he's lost his mind & has absolutely NO CONTEXT for what is reasonable or normal.

Because he's literally never lived a normal life. For hundreds of years starting from childhood he was in the most insane situations. Was kidnapped twice. Part of 2 different cults. Lost his memories. Brainwashed. Massive trauma. Sex trafficked. Had to deal with Marius. Like, just one of those things would warp a person, but the fact that it was just one after another from the beginning? Poor little gremlin never got the chance to learn how to be a person & interact with other people/society in any kind of normal way. Everything he does makes internal sense to him, but is absolutely batshit for anyone who was socialized in any kind of normal way.

In the book (it's been years since I read it) same thing that she was an adult in a child's body, & as she was going to be killed he decided to try & "rescue" her from her child's body - he cuts her head off & sews it onto an adult vampire woman's, (whose head he threw into the fire) & it was a shambling twitching unable to speak abomination, so he sews her head back onto her child's body & lets her burn also so Louis/Lestat never know what he did to her! So yeah in the end she was burned to a crisp, but first she was horribly tortured!
