And, I am SO glad that you mentioned that some women do not have the money to throw out my clothes because someone on KZbin says they are outdated! Just fascinating! One of my dearest friends and I turned 82 this year we always dressed fashionable and received compliments on a regular basis ..A few days ago we had a conversation just like the one you just had with us. We suddenly feel a sense of freedom, of not worrying much about what we can or cannot wear anymore. I notice paper skin much more so I wear long sleeves more often. But if it's too hot I will show the paper skin. I believe that being in our 80s is a tremendously freeing experience. Loved your post!

I like a collared blouse with jeans or slacks. Cardigans and blazers. Jeans and boots and pullover tops or tshirts. I go to Goowill and thrift stores and wear Talbots, Coldwater creek, Walmart brands, Kim Gravel, Linea by Louis, Bob Mackie. I will not pay marked up prices. I shop on Poshmark and Amazon. I always have on makeup and jewelry even at home. I wear what makes me feel happy and comfortable. I don't follow trends unless it is something I would wear anyway. I just got a Barn style jacket for this winter on Amazon. I say prayers for you and your family and your community on KZbin frequently. And I love blessing others. I remember watching you many years ago when you lived in Little Rock and you talked about shoes l thought l am going to stick with Patti and always wear cute shoes l think you was shopping with a friend lol 😂 and the man came in to buy his wife shoes . I always enjoy your videos and you tell us things that help and encourage us that you don’t have to spend a lot to look and feel good about ourselves. I'm a French woman and I assure everything you chose is great. I think half of frumpiness is a state of mental being. Take for exemple the wonderful striped shirts yoi showed. Another woman would put one on and look frumpy.or ordinary because of her lack of PRESENCE in the clothes.

Miss Patti, I’m getting there! I’ll be 70 on Christmas Eve. And I dress the way I want to! I live in Florida, so it’s been shorts and jeans most of my 35 years here. So you go Lady! You do what makes you feel good, regardless of what others may think. I have to tell you,lately I’ve become a born again hippie 🤣. My younger sister (60) and I were in the mall with my son and family and came across a store called Earthbound Trading Company. They’re also online. I bought a pair of tie dyed bib overalls and some harem pants. I feel born again! And what surprised me about the harem pants is they are really great to wear in the Florida heat because they are light weight and so baggy that the air just flows through them and they don’t make you sweat. My granddaughter calls me her cool Grammy.🤣. So you keep doing your thing and I’ll keep doing mine. That’s what makes life interesting!

Thank you Patti. You have said what I have felt for quite some time. I am so tired of creators telling me if I wear this or that I will look "old". I'm 75 and I am "old" but I do find it is harder for me to find clothes that I feel good in and then, when I do find something, some creator tells me that it is "out of style" or "makes you look older". Soooo - what I have done is I have deleted those creators from my feed. I will only watch people who feel like me or make me feel better. Aging is by no means an easy endeavor so let's be kind to each other. You made my day!

I turned 80 in July and don’t want to dress frumpy either…I have a pooch, so I do need to wear long tops with jeans to cover, I look at all the trendy clothes, but most aren’t for me. I love what you said, be the best we can be, also, I love the Time & Tru denim leggings. First of all, I love your clothes and you did such a good job modeling them!!!! Secondly, I totally agree with you about these people saying how to dress and not looking frumpy!!!! I can't stand these things. Let people dress the way they want and what they can afford!!! If it looks frumpy to others, WHO CARES!!!! YOU are wearing these clothes!!! If it makes you feel comfortable and happy then do it!!! I personally like looser fitting clothes, because even if it's okay in the beginning, during the day you may be wishing you got something a little bit larger!!! I love you, and your channel. Been following you for several years. I’m amazed at how beautiful you are, and you always look lovely. I dress nice when I go out, always have. But with all these disasters, and thousands of woman, many our age, that no longer have anything. If they can get a clean tee shirt on they feel blessed. My beautiful home I worked very hard for, my husband and I built it ourselves so we never owed a dime on. I live on a farm in an extraordinarily beautiful place. Right in the line of Tennessee and North Carolina. A tornado destroyed my home in 2016. The disasters that have just taken place are just a few miles from me. We were spared this in my community. But all I’m thinking of right now is trying to send every dime I can to organizations that can help these people. I’ve been there myself. I wore clothes with holes in them for awhile, that I found up in a tree. No one loves beautiful clothes and jewelry and beautiful stuff for my home than me. And it wasn’t that long ago that’s what I thought about most of the time. But I’m beyond this now. I still dress nice in the clothes I have now. Always put makeup on to go out. But I rarely go out now. I’m very ill. Just a few years ago I never set still, always going. My house had to be perfect. I had to look as good as I possibly could. Still attempt to every once in a while. Since I’ve been in a natural disaster, I know how horrible it is to try to get anything that even resembles a normal life back together again. I never did. I was not physically able to rebuild my house and there were other circumstances. Everyone, please be happy, but please please think of those people who now have nothing. I know for a fact, Samaritans purse is there on the ground. They’re like angels that who I’m giving to because I can trust them. I will not be buying no new clothes for myself. Let’s try to have those each and every year when a natural disaster happens somewhere that don’t have any clothes now. God bless all of you. Not trying to be a downer. Do not believe any of the major news, not a bit of what they say. I personally loved all the outfits you wore with jeans, especially the red sweater with that awesome necklace and the striped button-down shirt! You look so much younger, fitter, and effortless chic in those outfits! No one will ever guess you are over 80 in those. Sometimes, clothing or certain styles can age us unnecessary! Only you can be so glamorous at age 81 in a bathrobe! I’m 76 years old and do have those moments that you were talking about. Sometimes I think will this make me look like I’m trying to be a teenager? Or will this make me look like I’ve just given up? Lol but I still enjoy putting my make up on and wearing a cute outfit even to go to the grocery store. It just makes me feel better!

Patti...what a great video. I find one of the greatest gifts of aging in not feeling one has to fit into a mold or care what others think of things, for example the way we dress. Yes, I think going out looking like a slob is a bad choice, but many of the younger generations have chosen that as their style. I love the clothes you showed and you look great in those outfits. I love your nail color...very autumnal! You are so beautiful, inside and out!!!

Hi! You're right where I am about dressing confusion. Boho has always been a favorite of mine because that's my era, cut off jeans, broomstick skirts, big hair, dark eyes and disco. At 77 yo my body has started to give me some problems lol, and demand comfort clothes and shoes. I'm shrinking in height so most things are long for me, except Candace Cameron Bure at QVC, and most of her clothes are100% cotton ❤ Marla Wynn is my favorite designer, especially her jewelry. Your KZbin videos are very informative and well worth watching.

Oh my goodness I love you! Thank you for your beautiful words. I’m 62 retired and I love pretty clothes but I also need a more casual style to fit my lifestyle. One influencer said capris are frumpy….well I love them and I get compliments when I wear them. Style is so many things, how you wear something, how you accessorize and how you feel in your outfit. What a pretty collection you've put together, Patti! I especially like the stripey shirts - those elastic cuffs are a stroke of genius. I live out in the country, and hardly want to buy clothes any more. Not because I don't enjoy them, but because I don't seem to wear anything out, and they're all so classic that they don't go out of what I consider style. The only thing I want to replace is my dearest Chico's embroidered sheeting 'jeans' jacket, which literally wore out on me. I kept it, and am considering using it as a pattern when I find a fabric that will set off my basics.

Hi, Patti ~ I am 78 and I really don't dress differently than when I was younger, like in my 40's ~ 50's I wear mostly jeans like the ones you showed and tops like you shared as well. I love flannel shirts and sweaters in fall and winter. I love your style. You look very pretty and I love that you think young and encourage us more mature women that we can still feel good about how we dress.

I think the clothes are absolutely perfect! I think they look great on you and I have even been looking into them as I watch. I’m 60 and I have heard people say something similar about age and I just don’t buy it. Now I’m not going to run around in a cheerleading outfit with saddle oxfords, but nothing you picked out is outlandish for someone of our advancing years. 😉😊 I just found you tonight and love what I have seen so far. I you don’t really look 81 at all. I’m 60 and often have people tell me l look 45 all of the time (even though I have a lot more salt than pepper in my hair), and I would have bet you were closer to my age

Just last week I stopped to think what I was going to wear especially pants. I do have several pairs of them in every color and they are very comfortable. I sometimes think that a woman my age shouldn’t be wearing these as I see a lot of younger girls wearing them. Dress your age is running around in my head! LOL. I also love loose fitting tops and don’t like things to hug my body anymore especially if my muffin top can be seen. Shoes present another dilemma as high heels are out of the equation these days. So, all that being said you dress for yourself and what makes you happy. Love your style!❤❤️❤️❤️
