Fun Jet - AliExpress Copy - Maiden Flight - Amazing except ESC fried - Info in Description !!

This is my 'el cheapo' AliExpress Fun Jet copy. I have always loved the look of the fun Jet, and this model was just so cheap I couldn't pass it up. This is the maiden flight - My current setup is using a 2450kv motor running a 6x4 prop with a 1400mah 3s battery. All balances up perfectly on the cg marks at 470 gms flying weight.. That's just perfect.
The main thing about this model is I am so impressed at how the build went together, all the parts where just very precise, I had no issues at all. I did have a concern about not having a main wing spar, but after gluing the wing into its key socket, then laminating the whole model, it feels very solid but light... Very happy with this build !!
It was very hard to see the model, just a bit small and fast plus I was keeping it high for the maiden and trimming, but as you saw at the end just after I got it trimmed, the esc made a strange sound / tone then went into limp mode so I was just able to land the model safely. Turns out the esc was fried... maybe faulty as I had checked the current draw and I was definitely under, but I have since changed it to a larger esc and a slightly smaller prop... standby for maiden flight #2 coming very soon with much closer and lower flying !!

I used to use the term "silky maiden" for a basically hands free no trim needed flying. Apart from the ESC yours was pretty good.

@@allenmoore9848 well it was 'silky' for sure, just needed a heap of up elevator but it flew so stable .. I would have flown it low and close but the esc let me down...!! Standby for the next flight..😁

@@Colin_Holloway well the launch was ... and when I got it trimmed.. then the esc failed.. but next time I will be flying much closer and lower for the video... the maiden flight is always a but higher just in case..😆

Good looking bird Craig and not slow thats for sure. Inflight trimming is always a challenge but you have done great job.
