I've already commented on the color choices for the exterior, but I wanted to say that it is looking really nicely done! Also, Im wondering if you were there for the community get-together they recently held? Someone mentioned a homemade gnat trap that was effective, and we have problems with them here (CA),too. Since I don't live there, yet, I can't contact anyone but you because you've been kind enough to share your journey. Please don't go to any extra effort. We are not in danger of being overrun! The videos are wonderful! 😊 A really nice glimpse of such a beautiful area and I really like the added information! I'm going to be looking for good day trips and Swann Marina and Douglas Lake look perfect. I've also recently renewed my love for dwarf (Nubian) goats and I'm hoping that one or more of the local farms is a dairy farm and will have access during kidding season.

I did attend the The Grove get-together and I don't recall the conversation regarding the gnat trap discussion. However, I do believe that Amanda and Randy posted it on ITH videos.
@streetsmartintelligent Жыл бұрын
They said to pour bleach down your drains, & Amanda said just putting bleach in a cup on the counter would kill them. What I personally use, is alot of soapy water in a bowl, & they fly into it & drown. Randy said if you still are having gnat issues around the commode area, to let him know, because you shouldn't be & he'd take a look at it.
@melaniehoshall6942 Жыл бұрын
@l.h5618 @VanLifeStorytelling Thanks so much for your reply! The soap is worth a try, but I'd rather avoid the fumes from bleach if I can. I'll need to go back and watch the video again. I remember someone (offscreen) talking about vinegar, and I think Amana said her name. Also, I hope I haven't misrepresented myself - it wasn't my intention. I'm not in one of the communities yet. I've got a bit more time to work (and money to save) before I can buy my tiny home and move to Tennesee, but I'm working on it, and I believe it's the best plan out there for me! @inthesunbythebeach I have 2) mini splits currently. One in my house of 1800 sq. ft, I actually sold my BIG TRANE unit outside. BECAUSE, the mini splits uses ALOT LESS electricity & cools the place quickly. The other mini split is in my 10x20 metal shed converted to my ceramic art studio, it's insulated & sheet rocked.
