Great job Jase....you gotta start somewhere. I have a 17 year old cousin who's got into welding the past couple years...learn a trade, or a few trades, they're the bread and butter of the country....people love to look down upon trades people but nothing would be built without them. During COVID when kids were home doing school work my uncle called me one afternoon to come over and show my cousin how to get started laying the laminate flooring in their house. Which really meant hey come over and install flooring in my house for free. My 2 younger cousins who were 13 and 14 at the time were told to help me. So, I had them start out pulling off the base boards, and ripping the carpet out. Well, that's where the fun began....told the boys to go get hammers and pry bars....they did that, then sat there staring at them....I said well you gotta get working....the oldest looks up at me and says "we don't know how to use the tools...I was like BS, stop being lazy and get to work....he says no honestly we have no idea....jeez, at their age I was in the shop helping build stuff with my grandfather. Never realized the boys had no clue how to use even the basic hand tools. So, the first day turned into a classroom session...and honestly I think they enjoyed it more than their school work LOL. As we got further along and started having to cut, notch, and shape the flooring pieces to fit, they got to learn to use a tape measure, angle finder, jig saw, and miter saw. My aunt says well I guess at least they're learning something useful LOL....well yeah of course, and doing pretty good too considering they just were learning. Now they wanna build stuff all the time...ooops. Oldest graduated this past summer from high school, younger one graduates this coming year....oldest is going to school to be a dentist, but wants to specialize in pediatric dentistry (he loves working with and helping little kids)...the youngest wants to go to a welding school and start his own mobile welding business.
