Hey Sherrie! I find your playing, and the fact that you're so willing to teach admirable :) I would really recommend some hearing protection though, I'm sure you've tried it, and it might feel weird at first but you'll eventually get used to it and find that the drumset is even more fun to play on, and most importantly, you'll preserve your hearing, which allows us to play this instrument to begin with. Loop or Eargasm earplugs are very good and relatively inexpensive, but even some orange foam plugs will do. Drum on! B-)
