⭐︎Fun Ways to Use Magazine Cutouts for Scrapbooking + Journal With Me!

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another video! Today, I'm showing you ho wI like to use magazines for my scrapbooks/journals. I show you cool vintage images I cut out and how I turned them into stamps, circles, and more! Magazines are a great way to find cool images, patterns, and icons for your creative journals. You just have to look for it! One of my favorite things to do is get magazines of singers from the 80's because you can find super cool black and white vintage photos. I also show you how I make journal spreads with the cutouts I make! I hope you all enjoy this video, and that you get some tips!

I knew if I looked long enough I could find this video. I am new to junk journals. I am trying to keep things economical. I am so mad at myself. I just threw away a ton of People magazines I could have used for ephemera. This is a great idea. I have problems finding African American images so using magazines will really help. I think I might look for Jet magazines. Loved your video.

Wow. Thanks so much for making this video. I have a lot of magazines and love to make inchies and twinchies out of some of the smaller pictures. But I have a hard time finding inspiration to make other ephemera with it since it's mostly quite modern and colorful. You showed me how to combine the colorful patterns with craft paper and inking the edges to get a more vintage look overall. That's amazing. Your video is something I needed for a long time now. I'd love to see more videos on how to bridge the gap between contemporary and vintage. Love your work. 🙏🏼❤

You are using your creativity instead of just cutting out digital prints created by someone else. I don't use any digitals because it isn't creative-----it's just cutting & pasting someone elses art. I have done lots of collage pages in my art journal using magazine cut outs. Thanks for sharing.

I used to purchase digital prints from others and I still think it’s a great alternative because it’s less expensive, for anyone who wants to purchase ephemera on a lower budget. But I stopped because I love sourcing things from books. It’s so much more fun and you have a wayyyy bigger selection for a lesser price. It’s so satisfying!

Hi. A friend of mine told me not to use magazine images because they have copyright.

If you are using the ORIGINAL images from the magazines and not photo copies, then your friend is incorrect, you don't need to worry. It's no different than anything else, you bought the magazine, you own it, you can deconstruct it. And, if you aren't selling anything- then it doesn't even matter if they are photo copies. But yea, as long as it's original book pgs, covers, magazines, kids books(some ppl like to use the like brick book type, the really hard cardboard, chip board? Idk I think you know what I mean, 😅), etc.
