I’ve had this plane for a year or so and the last 8 months it’s be stored away in the garage. Now that I joined a club I have a good place to fly it.

Use your electric planes to practice engine out scenarios. Practice a bunch as that glow will get you one day

@@dustinhiett9594 Thanks for the tips. I saw it hanging from the ceiling at hobby town, it has a os40, servos, tank, no reciever and crusty monokote..I re covered the fuse, the wing is being refinished..sky raider 2 for $ 65..not bad.

I love the sound and smell of a nitro motor ! That looks like a Goldberg Eagle I had about 30 years ago..

Based on the wing caps I think it was a Hobbico Avistar 40. but who knows many kits of this style seem to be almost the same.

I used to set my throttle so I could kill it with the trim!! Good job with getting it back with a high idle!

I have finally got it tuned and the throttle cut right. No issues slowing down now

Yes a nice glow engine that uses glow fuel, there is no such thing as a nitro engine or nitro fuel Nice aircraft and some nice flying.
@dustinhiett95942 жыл бұрын
Glow fuel actually does have Nitromethane in the mixture. It major component is Methanol. and of course Oil as well. and this Nitro component is why I was calling this "fun with Nitro" and or a nitro engine.
@RC-Flight2 жыл бұрын
@@dustinhiett9594 yes you are correct that glow fuel has a small percentage of nitro methane 5-15% for most glow engine applications for sport flying. But calling it nitro engine would be the same as me calling my cars engine a octane engine and that I use octane fuel in it. I know people call it nitro fuel and nitro engine, because they think it’s cool! But it’s misinformation. Just like people calling RC Remote control, it’s not a TV!!! It’s a Radio Controlled vehicle ( IE: RC aircraft ) controlled by a radio transmitter and receiver via Radio Waves.
@dustinhiett95942 жыл бұрын
@@RC-Flight You are correct in the scientific aspect. But to keep this hobby Fun and entertaining we must find things that do this for us and the hobby. As Nitro is a part of the Fuel it is fun to try to link this hobby to the excitement/power of the NHRA. Just trying to keep this hobby fun and entertaining. Not intending this to be Misleading.
