Congrats Eddie on getting Aussie local hero of the year
@MELOVESTHEVOICE236 жыл бұрын
your australia day address was so incredibly moving and touching - as a student in her final year of high school at a top selective school, i personally struggle to find the fascination in maths (trying to get questions done quickly, as you likewise recalled upon your high school experiences) yet upon listening to how your passion grew for maths, it truly has inspired mine. thank you for speaking and representing such a fundamental part of our world, often underestimated, drawing upon your upbringing (experiences which mirrored so much of my primary education) and ultimately, inspiring and empowering Australians, young or old, to become a mathematician in the 21st century. you genuinely have changed my outlook on maths and i'm certain you've had a similar impact amongst many like me :) keep being the true mvp and hero that you are!

Would that also mean that the fact that there are parts of the graph with no outputs stops it from being a function?

Why function has to be like that one input not more than one output is it having a significance ..... Plz answer
@carultch Жыл бұрын
A function can have multiple inputs, but by definition, a function has only one output. An equation such as x^2 + y^2 =1, is a relation, but it is not a function. You generally learn introductory functions that have only one input and one output, to keep it simple. But in multivariable calculus (usually Calc 3), you use functions of multiple variables all the time.
