Why is it called Vacutap? Is the transformer kept in a vacuum to avoid arcing? If so, for how long can you guarantee that a suitable vacuum is maintained before the transformer needs maintenance?
@median_hp11 жыл бұрын
if the arc happens in the vacuum did i still needs to check my the oil compartment of the OLTC (BDV/DGA)? because it will reduce our cost significantly if we didn't needs to do check again :D

Thanks for Clear explain to the Principles of Technology of How it works

It is called VACUTAP® because the operation of tap-changing is done in a vacuum.
@ReinhausenTV11 жыл бұрын
Almost right. The transformer as well as the oil compartment of the OLTC are filled with insulating oil. Inside of the oil compartment there is the diverter switch insert (under oil). The diverter switch insert contains the vacuum interrupter. The making and breaking of the arc happens in the vacuum interrupter with vacuum as arc quenching media.

In fact you can save the money for the DGA. However the breakdown voltage has to be checked. For Y-applications with a regulation in the Y-point (IEC 60214-1 - Class 1) it shall be 30kV/2,5mm. For other applications (IEC 60214-1 - Class 2) it shall be 40kV/2,5mm (measuring method with spheric electrodes according to IEC 60156).
