Excellent! What is the width of the stripe if you want to make 1.75 filament?
@function3D
@function3D 2 жыл бұрын
The width of the cut depends on the thickness of the bottle wall, as a general rule: Thickness Width 0.2mm 10mm 0.25mm 9mm 0.3mm 8mm 0.35mm 7mm.

@@function3D ⚠️ God has said in the Quran: 🔵 { O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous - ( 2:21 ) 🔴 [He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him]. @korishan

You can get unsealed bearings so you don't have to go through the process off taking apart and cleaning the bearings. Save time and money However, because you use the grinder on the bearings to get a sharp edge, you should leave the shield on one side to keep the metal filings from getting in the ball bearings and race. The metal filings creates flat spots on the ball bearings and will make them wear out much sooner otherwise. If using non-shielded bearings, put some grease in the bearings and use a belt sander or you can do it manually on some high grit metal wet sanding paper and just make figure 8's with the bearings until they get the proper edge on them. Using the grease and wet sand paper will keep the metal filings from getting into the ball bearings as well.
@luckgrip252
@luckgrip252 Жыл бұрын
But that bearing will not go through any stress, to make things clearer. It'll be only used by hand as a guide for pulling the strings necessary of PET. But yeah, you've got a point anyways. 👍 Stay safe
@alex1993r
@alex1993r Жыл бұрын
You cant sharp the bearings without removing the shield. And also, the metal filings will get into it anyway
@korishan
@korishan Жыл бұрын
@@alex1993r What are you talking about?? "sharp the bearings"??? I was saying in my first comment that you can purchase bearings without the seals, so there'd be no need for the grinder in the first place. Which would eliminate the filings getting into the bearings.
@nilsschenkel7149
@nilsschenkel7149 Жыл бұрын
@@korishan What he´s talking about is that you have to grind down the chamfer on the outer race of the bearing, to get a sharp corner that can actually shear something. That´s what you do with the grinder.

Mount/make a sharpener/lapper so it sharpens/keeps the edges at all times. Cuts and sharpens as it goes. You’ll have to make adjustable of course. Invest in a mini-lathe as well. Few hundred bucks for a decent one. Comes in suuuuuper handy for little projects and such where you need to machine little metal parts. You can even buy/make a mount to turn it into a small rudimentary horizontal milling machine for those tough non-circular projects. Keep it up!

Congratulations for the video, I thought it was great and I'm going to try to replicate it in a school project here to test, when you sharpen the 6200 bearing, is there an angle? it looks flat/straight, I didn't quite understand this sharpening scheme, would the two bearings use the same angle? Do you have a link with a photo or video showing these details of how to do it step by step to sharpen perfectly?

Sensational project, the best I've seen so far, adjusting the height of the pet was very simple, congratulations! Do you have a version for 608zz bearings (bearings for skates and skateboards), or could you make it? They are much cheaper and easier to find.
@function3D
@function3D Жыл бұрын
I tried it with the 608zz but I was not able to do it because they did not withstand the high speeds they reach when I sharpen them. You would need a good 608zz or another method to sharpen them that does not involve high speeds.

@function3D
@function3D 11 ай бұрын
I have never tried it as you say, but I guess you will have to spend a lot of time sanding and doing it with a grinder is not only because it is fast but because it is equal, the sharpening is perfect horizontal, by hand it is more complicated to get it right, plus you will also be sanding the central ring of the bearing and I do not know what it will affect

I am looking for a bottle cutter, I have seen several models, I have only tried the simplest with a cutter blade and washers as height supplements and it has not worked, they are not as simple as they seem to be. I want to try this one with bearings, I think that the sharpening issue is like with scissors, you only have to wear down one side, I think that without wearing down it could work but the cut would not be clean, and something that everyone warns is that maintaining the width of the the pet tape in a constant value is the secret of a good filament, here with 1 dollar I get the 2 6200's
