SOCIAL RESEARCH TECHNIQUES: QUANTITATIVE, QUALITATIVE AND MIXED TECHNIQUES

Research is a process of knowledge generation and it starts from curiosity. The social research looks for explanations in the phenomena that generate it. It consists, therefore, in the systematic carrying out of intellectual and experimental activities that discover new phenomena, their composition or their behaviour.
Research generates knowledge, and knowledge allows for continuous reinvention, generating the mechanisms necessary to face problems, challenging the future, making the path of life more passable.
Depending on the type of knowledge to be obtained, one technique or another will be used. Research is based on a series of techniques and research methods that make it possible to describe, explain and analyse the facts and phenomena that one wishes to know.
This course is intended to provide knowledge about the different social research techniques that exist, whether qualitative, quantitative or mixed, and about their applicability and development in a clear and simple way, explaining what they consist of, their purpose, what they are used for, the work protocol and the forms of classification.
