Old army infantry fundamentals: try not to pull on the trigger, squeeze it. In the standing stance, squeeze the small of your back (almost like when you're squatting) which is pretty dumb tbh. Lower back gives in in like 5 minutes or less, but that's how it's instructed and instructed doctrinally. We were also told to fully extend a buttstock for recoil control, or all the way out and 1 set in (that's how we cheat). Extending non firing arm all the way in a C clamp facilitates faster target acquisition by simply "pointing" towards a target. Be comfortable while shooting! Awesome video! All points are covered

@@TheDeaconGamez I'd say it's good. As long as your wrist is not moving and your palms are not pushing, I'd practice and watch my groupings with any grip and trigger finger placement that is comfortable
@subwoofer67262 жыл бұрын
While I think some points could be explained more in detail, I think a good question to ask and answer about the safety is, "But my finger is off the trigger. What would having the safety on benefit me for?" Needs to be said that rifle triggers are not like pistol triggers (excluding the 1911) in that they usually have hair triggers on them. It takes little to no effort to release the hammer on most rifles. The safety helps ensure that you don't accidently pull the trigger and it blocks the hammer from releasing. This is especially imperative if you are shooting with gear on because said gear can be prone to hitting the trigger as the rifle is most likely resting against your body 98% of the time if you are wearing a plate carrier or chest rig. Unlike your pistol however that is holstered and having its trigger guarded from things around it. Make it always as habit as TG said to make sure that when you are not in the stage of going to fire or firing the gun that you are aware of if your rifle is on "safe" or "fire" mode.

This video reminds me, I heard a recommendation that pistol caliber carbines in particular are good starting guns for novice shooters. You pointed out several of the advantages carbines have as personal defensive weapons, but the recommendation I heard went on to add that the pistol calibers typically lends themselves to lower recoil than rifle calibers, the ergonomics of a carbine enable more accurate shooting at moderate to long range than with a pistol, and the ammunition tends to be inexpensive enough that you can literally better afford to get more practice in using it than you would with something that would take pricier ammo.
@sixoffive2 жыл бұрын
Not an expert, PCC or pistol caliber carbine is an old concept back to the old west (shot glass). Cheaper is a relative thing, Midwayarms has 5.56 @ fifty cents a round and 9mm @ twenty six cents a round. You loose range and penetration with a PCC. Not necessarily bad for the task. There are also adapters that works in a 5.56 AR that allow you to shot .22lr. Initial cost up front for that with savings in shooting about fifteen cents a shot. If you purchase an AR lower you could attach a 9mm upper with mag attachments. Personally my defense weapon is a pump shotgun.
@FearlessSon2 жыл бұрын
@@sixoffive In my case, I wanted to avoid over-penetration, so losing some penetration compared to a 5.56 didn't bother me too much. A .22 would be good for target or small game shooting, but not much for stopping power. I settled on a 16" barrel for a 9mm, since that's the legal minimum barrel length requirement in my state for something to be classed as a "rifle". Something smaller than that which is held in two hands is neither a "rifle" nor a "pistol" using the local law's definition of those categories, and I wanted to avoid potential murkey legality status.

For accuracy consistency is key. This is why one should shoot on the natural raspatory pause. The natural raspatory pause is after we exhale, at the bottom of our breath there is a pause. This is much more consistent than shooting with your lungs half full. The reason for this is we are not equipped with a gauge that tells us when our lungs are half full. Shooting on the pause is consistent every time, were what we perceive half full lungs will be a little different each time. Food for thought.

I've seen a lot of people recently talking about how cheek welds are more relevant to long-range precision shooting (due to smaller eye boxes on older or highly-magnified optics), and also partially a holdover from the days when ironsight alignment was paramount. These days with red-dots and low-/mid-magnification optics, it seems more prevalent thinking that cheek welds aren't necessarily required for combat shooting so long as you can get a consistent sight picture and not lose the reticle. This seems to be partially informed by evolving doctrine relevant to passive aiming under night vision and/or with gasmasks, where getting a weld might not even be possible in some cases. What are your thoughts?
@TacticoolGirlfriend2 жыл бұрын
I still think a cheek weld will always be better than none. That point of contact does a lot for creating an indexing point for your eyes as well as controlling recoil. Yes, you can shoot without, but why would you if you could help it?
@Caligari872 жыл бұрын
@@TacticoolGirlfriend a fair point. I guess for me, I can't ever seem to get a "good" cheek weld on my AR unless my eyes are down level with the rail, looking under my optic. Dunno what that might be a function of. Whenever I try to do a more "head up" position instead of turtling, it feels like I lose the weld. It's just never comfortable for me. So I've been trying to look at those other techniques that de-emphasize it.

A question from a dude who has never shot a gun before. Does your shooting technique change if you're in a CQB scenario? Like room clearing, for example. I keep hearing about techniques like "canted aiming" or "point shooting" where you don't actually use the sights, but you aim the muzzle towards your target. Are these things legit or is it better to use the sights every time?
@TacticoolGirlfriend2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. There's a lot to point shooting and it's something everyone should train if they're orienting themselves in a defensive manner. Certainly a more advanced concept, but it comes naturally over time as you run speed drills.

The least thing i did was recoveries; from jump over different obstacles, pass below, jump off vehicles... on sand and rocks beaches, rivers... mud... and that kind of thing. With the CETME-Ls monopod it used to help a bit with the feeding, but.. wasn't "magical", those sons of bitches had all the fuckin' springs busted and the mags springs were even worst; was.. it depends entirely on your platform, how heavy your ammo's grain is, and how far you plan to be engaging from on average during actual use, but in most instances, and especially for less experienced shooters, raw iron sights or a budget red dot are perfectly fine. my m&p sport 2 has dual flip-ups and an 80 dollar bushnell red dot mounted on her and i'm pretty consistently the tightest grouping at my range sessions.

Depending on your pistol selection, you can also get magazine cross compatibility, which saves cash but is also very practical. Ruger PCCs come in a few models for different mags/calibers, and most 9mm PCCs will have options or the flexibility to accept popular double-stack pistol magazines (for example, a glock19 and ruger pcc)
@TheFreakOfNature262 жыл бұрын
i own a ruger pcc and i love it so far. mine came with two separate mag wells which can be easily swapped out - one which takes glock mags and one which takes mags from the ruger sr9. highly recommend
@Olamina-c1y2 жыл бұрын
I have owned a Ruger PCC for a couple years now. I would've bought some AR 15 variant (or even a Benelli MR1) instead if I could but neither of those have been accepted for hunting purposes, which is how the state where I live forces me to justify my firearm ownership. Not having had the chance to compare it with any other semi-auto I must still say that I am pretty happy with it. I have put something like 2000 cartridges through it without a single malfunction which wasn't brought on by user error (the magazine needs to float freely in order to feed correctly, this can present itself as a problem when laying prone with a longer magazine, though it hasn't happened again since I figured that part out). For what it is, it's a very accurate rifle. Feels quite sturdy too, but weighs more than probably any other modern PCC, a fact which is made even worse by the 47 cm barrel which is required here in Sweden for hunting (completely non-sensical by any practical metric, as far as I am aware the increased length actually reduces muzzle velocity since the powder burns off long before the bullet leaves the barrel). However, something which you might want to take into account is that in total I've spent over $1000 on after-market stuff in order to get it to a point which I would still consider fairly minimalistic for any serious purposes (leaving plenty of room for further upgrades): Five magazines cost about $300. A couple 24 rounders, others 33 - Completely up to personal preferences. I also bought a 5 rounder to meet hunting limitations. Aftermarket M-LOK Handguard was $250, this is now available as an option from the factory, which I would recommend. Some cheap magpul stuff to make it a bit more ergonomic added probably $35 or so to that. The Romeo 5 red dot sight with mount included was another $250-300. I would heavily advise against going much cheaper than that on any type of glass. The cheap variant of sights would be just using the irons. The Streamlight Protac 2 weapon light was just short of $200, mount approximately $60 (can definitely go cheaper on the mount, I bought a very high-end one which offered a slimmer profile). There are cheaper lights than this, though I can't speak to what kind of drawbacks those would come with compared to the Streamlight which seems to be punching way above its price-class. The sling was about $70 and the two QD swivels and the handguard attachment point were inexpensive in comparison. However, you will need to change out either the whole chassi or one of the stock spacers in order to be able to mount the sling in a way where you can rest the rifle on the front of your person (as opposed to how conventional hunting rifles are slung on the back with both swivel studs on the bottom of the rifle). The spacer with a QD socket cost me nearly as much as the sling itself. Part of me is still considering getting an after-market chassi to be able to have a more ergonomic pistol grip as well as a telescopic stock which rests on your shoulder at the same height of the barrel, thus reducing felt recoil. Besides the chassi and accompanying furniture, future potential upgrades which I would consider include suppressor (already planning to buy soon), after-market trigger (don't feel a massive need for it, would definitely be a luxury upgrade), an ambidextrous safety (major improvement over the factory safety if you want to be able to shoot ambidextrously), and a magnifier for the red dot sight (would be nice, I guess). Now most of this stuff you would still have to buy if you decided to go with an AR instead, though if you want the objectively superior AR-esque ergonomics, that aftermarket Ruger PCC chassi will easily run you a couple hundred, not including furniture. If I had to start this process of buying a first solid rifle all over again, but without any legal limitations, I would easily choose a reputable AR-15 brand, favouring .223 over 9x19 mm for the flatter trajectory and increased range capability (certainly the more expensive option to practice with, but dryfire is free!), and probably picking an LPVO instead of a red dot. I would much rather save up and spend more on the initial purchase and add on the other stuff (light, sight, sling and extra magazines) later at a pace I feel financially comfortable with. That being said, do whatever you feel is best for your needs. Good luck!

Sniffle sniffle 😢. 😉Ohhh! Come-on baby, what about us pistol caliber carbine lovers 😍? Sub-2000??? Please 🥺🙏🥺. Another great informative video. Then thousand blessings to you and yours 💕

My sub2000 is set up "half gangsta" with optics set at 45 degrees and shot with optics up and handle comfortably 45 degrees right. Short slinged so able to remove right hand completely and no carbine movement. And yes, it fully folds and locks. The mags fit my glock 17, too. An sweet backpack sized carbine that unfolds and locks in seconds.

Patreon members please consider donations for her! just a suggestion teaming up with Lucas from T Rex arms would help the whole community of Women gun owners really get a lot of attention and support in the 2A community. WOW!!! How do we make this happen Tacticool Girlfriend? Lets make it happen

Omg, really? Yes a collab with a far right political trans and transphobic youtuber who uses guns occasionally to look "cool" to her base. Only thing they have in common is being trans. Blaire is pretty reviled in the trans community. And tacticool girlfriend is definitely not a friend of the right. She does try to stay as apolitical as possible, but definitely has a leftist bent to her content and social media. Just stays apolitical in her content so anyone can enjoy it and consume it as educational regardless of beliefs which i think is important as most gun channels are hyper right wing and political. BUT BLAIRE WHITE? SERIOUSLY?
