loved this tutorial-very good instructions on how you did the process--I'm going to watch it again while tying and placing colors on an actual item of mine-the navy blue outlines looks great in place of the traditional white that I"ve seen in other tutorials !!

Love that hoodie!!! Love how colorful it is, the color combination and some of the navy still showing! You did an awesome job, as always!! ☺️💙 But MAN I wish I had your dye inventory!!!! You have SO MANY COLORS!!!!! 😍🤩 And always the specialty ones. You're just amazing, what else is there to say? ✨💫🔥 I would love to see how you organize and store all those dyes! 😉

Thank you so much! 😀 I've been dyeing for quite a long time so I do have a pretty large collection. I have rolling stainless steel racks that I store my dyes on and I organize them according to color family.

I've been wanting to get into tie dye as a new hobby, but so many creators online tend to gatekeep their processes which makes it hard to get started.😅 Thank you for such clear, easy-to-follow tutorials with such well-crafted narration. It's truy helped me build enough confidence to give my first geode dye a try next weekend!

I'm so glad you are enjoying the videos, and I hope you love tie dyeing as much as I do. It is a fun art form with lots of possibilities. Geodes are one of my favorites to make, because they all turn out so unique! I hope your first one turns out fantastic! 😀

@@elizabethdoherty7458 I only have one video for leggings. They aren't tied like a geode though. However, I think that would be a great design for leggings. Here's the ones I did a few years ago: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6LMmIydmJlpidk

Very nice Angie! At first when you showed the hoodie flat I wasn’t sure how I felt about it, but after you put it on the mannequin I was sold. It’s crazy how shape really changes the look.

I am so glad you pointed out the strings dyed too. It looks so good. You pick the best color combos. A lightweight hooded would be perfect here in Florida. The center of the geode came out great. I see what you mean by splitting the center to make it more interesting. I would love to see one of your geodes with a center of shades of one color that transition into another group of shades of a different color like green to blue or your favorite yellow to grey. I love the design of the geode but sometimes so many colors make my eyes go wonky. Also I get excited when I see a tub full of shirts waiting for out white bright. That means there are several videos coming soon.
@FunEndeavors2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! This hoodie would be great for a chilly Florida night, and that's a great idea for a geode color combination. I'll have to write that one down to try. I've already made videos for the rest of the hoodies in the Out White Brite tub. I love to tie up several and do them all at the same time.

@FunEndeavors6 ай бұрын
Thank you! I have two sinew pullers that I use. The wooden one I purchased from Nikolay Savin which I contacted through facebook. The colorful one I purchased from Boredom with Jenn, and here is a link to her website: shopboredomwithjenn.com/
@akumanekoto50754 ай бұрын
This looks beautiful! I'm going to try a reverse geode on a round neck shirt, and I'm considering putting more sinew on after the initial bleach to get some white bands in there with the black! I do have one question though; After the bleach out, I was under the assumption that you had to soak the shirt in a Hydrogen peroxide and water mix in order to neutralize the bleach. Does the out-white bright not need this step, or did you forgoe it because the hoodie had been sitting for so long?
@FunEndeavors4 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! 😊 That sounds like a great idea and I think that'll be cool. That's the great thing about Out White Brite, it doesn't need to be neutralized and it doesn't damage the fabric. It removes the color, but doesn't weaken the fibers of the fabric. I leave the item tied and wash it in my washing machine with some textile detergent after the color removal process. I do that to get out any of the Out White Brite residue before dyeing it. Then I soak it in a soda ash solution like normal before dyeing it. Some color from the item can soak out into your soda ash solution though, so I normally discard my soda ash solution afterwards or I soak the shirt in a separate container of soda ash solution.

I have an FR (flame resistant) shirt I'd like to remove the color from. I can not use "chlorine bleach, hydrogen peroxide bleach, softeners or starch." Per washing instructions. Is there any other way to remove colors??
@FunEndeavors Жыл бұрын
I doubt that a color remover will work without possibly damaging the FR part. Normally flame resistant fabric has to be handled carefully to not affect the flame resistant coating or the FR fibers.
@watermelonwook Жыл бұрын
When doing reverse, dyes, does it have to be 100% cotton?
@FunEndeavors Жыл бұрын
I usually use 100% cotton items, but some other fibers will work with reverse dyeing, like viscose. However, polyester won't work very well.
