Love it. It’s so tropical looking! I’m crazy for orange and yellow and appreciate it when they’re added because so many people are hesitant to use them.

Thank you! It does have a very tropical feel to it.

I’ve been really enjoying ice dye, my new favorite. Instead of using foil or cake molds I went to the fabric store and bought a yard of pvc liner. I cut it into strips and it works great.
@FunEndeavors2 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea! I used to use thin plastic cutting boards from the Dollar Store that I cut into strips before I started using cake molds.

You really did a fantastic job on this shirt! I have such a problem with yellows being eaten up and disappearing. You have inspired me to try and rock the yellow. 😊 I’m going to try this fold out too. I do a kaleidoscope but only on the front. I REALLY really like the whole shirt as if you are looking in a kaleidoscope. Thanks!

Thank you! Yellow is always a tough color. I thought it turned out looking really cool and I really love the kaleidoscope feel of this one too!

This is such a unique pattern! I added it to my try it list. I am afraid of yellows, except in sunflowers. I have the deep yellow and use it as a tiny accent over some yellow in my sunflowers. It is so orange, they need to rename it. I love seeing new folds, thank you!
@FunEndeavors2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I don't use yellow a lot either. I have to force myself to purposefully use it in something other than sunflowers or rainbows. You're right Deep Yellow is virtually orange. It is the color right before Soft Orange on Dharma's color chart so I guess that would make sense. I even had my color swatch out - so I knew what I was getting. I'm sure it makes a great accent color in sunflowers though.

I think the shirt is beautiful! Thank you so much for creating a new way to tie a shirt and come up with this beautiful pattern. I think you should do it again using different colors no yellow no orange. And by the way I always love how clean your utility sink is. If I had one that’s how it would look to , LOL.

Thank you for showing the folding slowly. I am a super novice, so you are my best teacher. 😁 Also, you mentioned stained glass about this shirt. Have you ever done a purposely stained glass design with like a very dark color for the contrast? Another question, do you sell these? Thanks again, I think my husband and I like seeing your videos more than regular TV. 😉
@FunEndeavors2 жыл бұрын
I'm so glad you are enjoying the videos! Thank you so much for watching. I don't know if I've ever made an intentional stained glass shirt before. I think a lot of reverse dyes have a stained glass feel to them since they usually have dark lines between the colors. I have a website where I sell my shirts. It is: www.funendeavors.com/

As I was watching the set up folding the only thought going through my head was how many times would dye and/or ice need to be added to make sure it goes all the way through. Good to see that even with thick folds like this it is not that big of a problem, thanks.
@FunEndeavors2 жыл бұрын
I was a little concerned about that too. However because it is a ring spun shirt, it isn't as thick as a Gildan Ultra Cotton. I was very pleasantly surprised that the whole shirt looks very evenly saturated. I want to try it again using a thicker shirt and see how it works.
@AlienShuttlecraft Жыл бұрын
Great colors. Deep yellow is very orangy but the shirt would be lost without it. Did you do it again with a thicker shirt? Thanks for another wonderful video.

Wow!! so cool! Do you have any tips on how to make sure i dont get my dyes on the tag? I'd always mess that up when I do haha!!
@FunEndeavors2 жыл бұрын
Depending on the fold, you could try to pull the tag up out of the way. Most of the time the tags don't take the dye, so I usually just ignore the tag.

will you do a list of all the places you get dyes from? love your stuff

Thank you! I purchase from Dharma Trading Company, Prochemical and Dye, Grateful Dyes, Custom Colours, and Dyespin. The dyes are all Procion MX Fiber Reactive dyes. I think Dharma has one of the largest color selections and they are located in California. Prochemical and Dye also have a pretty large color selection and they are in Massachusetts. Grateful Dyes has one of my favorite purples (Royal Purple) and they are located in Colorado. Custom Colours is in North Carolina - I noticed that he must be working on his website because he's directing everyone to his Ebay store to purchase dye. Dyespin is in Missouri, and I ordered from them for the first time a few months ago. I only ordered a few colors, but I have been using them a lot because they are really pretty. I noticed that they are continuously adding more colors to their website so I am planning on placing another order with them soon.

I love this design, but am wondering what size shirt was used in your vid? I have tried multiple ways to make sure I follow the instructions and I run short of material on the sleeve fold so that it is not completely covered by the last fold just prior to it. I am sure I am doing something wrong; I am folding an XL
@FunEndeavors Жыл бұрын
I made it using a Port and Company Ring Spun cotton t-shirt that was a size Medium. The sleeves should just be worked into the rest of the folds. They may not fit under a fold as nicely as these did, but just incorporate them into the shirt so that they aren't hanging outside of the rest of the folds. The main flag folds are the important part. The ring spun cotton makes it a little easier to work with because the fabric is so soft and it is easily manipulated.

It's really a beautiful design. But,how can I get the dye you used? What's the name?

Im just seeing this today, and I scanned the comments... NO ONE sees the cute little puppy in the middle of the back of the shirt? 9:55 Its blue, kind of from below... dark blue nose and mouth kinda frowning... and a white streak down the middle of his forehead!!! LOL It even looks like it has a collar and tags on!
@FunEndeavors2 жыл бұрын
You're right - there is a puppy on the back! I never saw it though until you pointed it out! It's so funny how many faces and things show up in tie dyes. 🐶

Have to be honest: I don't like it. I suppose it was bound to happen. I can't love everything you make. Not sure if it is the colors, the fold pattern, or both. But this one just doesn't look all that great in my eyes.
@FunEndeavors2 жыл бұрын
That's fine if you don't like it. I'm not a huge yellow fan so honestly, I wasn't sure I would like it either. However, I really like the stained glass feel, design and uniqueness of the shirt. 🙂
@AdirondackRuby2 жыл бұрын
@@FunEndeavors The more I look at it, I think it's the Deep Yellow. I thought it would work, but the orange-ness throws off the palette. Ah well, as they say "you can't please all people all the time".
@FunEndeavors2 жыл бұрын
@@AdirondackRuby I initially was concerned about the Deep Yellow too - it does look very orange on the shirt.
