For my senior graduation trip, I went to Medellin, Colombia. Chose Colombia because I’m a huge coffee nerd. My family and I went to THIS EXACT coffee farm!! Crazy!

That was fascinating! Love how the farm doesn't use any chemicals, amazing!! 😀

$20,000,000/550k =$36.60 per coffee farmer in Columbia per annum and that to me is beyond unacceptable and ruthless. The coffee industry needs a urgent reform to not only protect the people in the farming sector. living cost is rising everywhere and it is not economically viable and ethical to run a farm like this if the profit for the farmers doesn’t at least match the amount they invest in the goods they produce and sell, and I strongly believe that this is going to hit back at some point down the line to the coffee industry as a whole. We really need to wake up to this before it’s too late🤷🏽♂️

Amazing video, I have always liked the Columbian coffee. Starbucks gets most of their coffee from Indonesia, they grow coffee at low altitudes in Indonesia, because the turnover of the coffee is high in lower altitudes, and Starbucks coffee is so much in demand that they always want to buy more coffee.

Coffee plants don't have to grow in high altitude, I saw plantations in Ecuador almost at sea level :) not sure if some specific types need high altitude tho, but I heard Raya saying that the plants have to, but apparently not all of them😃 Nice to see another travel video Luis!

Coffee isn't only grown at high altitudes, Robusta coffee is grown at elevations between sea level and about 800m, but usually needs higher temperatures...24 to 30C; so I'm not sure you could grow it outside in LA.

Organic is the norm in Colombia., not the exception. When living there I never ate frozen anything. Meat was bought daily from a butcher, fruits and vegetables bought from the vendor around the corner. Kinda sucks having to pay extra at Trader Joe's for organic food :(

20 millions its all they get. Where do they get those numbers from? Sorry I do not buy it. We have to double check these guide's numbers. Same happened with the guy in Cartagena that said the colonial houses dated back 250 years, yet the city was founded in 1533. You do the math.
