Honestly LIFE is a pretty shit boardgame, all of the versions have their own unique problems, and at its core it's just blind luck. For instance, the original game offers literally no incentive to not go to college, and you could win even if you had bottom score by making a 1/10 bet on the wheel at the end. It's just a RNG winner-picker with a thin veneer of interactivity. The board was really cool looking though, and it was genuinely fun packing your little Mini-van with kid-pogs, which is why it was successful.
