The Bass player, Juna Serita, is currently a member of a band called The Muses, with other top tier musicians. She also plays with The Jazz Avengers. She has also been known to play sax a bit. As for TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI, their version of "What is Hip?" is a must!!

Yes, my friend Jamal, I was impressed as you right now, a wonderful discovering since the pandemic era, this is the vibe, real funky, soulful, jazzy patterns from this killer talented japanese girls, Harumo, tenor sax player, MiMi, drums, Juna Serita, bass player, impressive style and grooving, and piano player Emi. This is the tip of the iceberg about their approach. They`ve got another terrific tune, a cover from 1975 Esther Phillips hit What a Difference a day Makes, a performance that is a must to check it out. All of us, as good music human beans fans, are needing more stuff like this, real on stage jam, instruments and talent. They will be in some days performing at Las Vegas, according to the band`s official page.

Tokyo and Osaka in Japan have some of the most vibrant jazz/funk artists you are ever going to see. TGJ has always been at the forefront, especially with this lineup of Juna Serita on bass, MiMi on drums, Emi on keyboards and the incomparable Harumo Imai on sax. They are just breathtaking. And when they need a vocalist, they call on the superb Rita Nishikawa. As was mentioned in another comment, Juna is with The Muses at present and also plays with The Jazz Avengers, an amazing all-female jazz band that is filled with amazing artists. You should check out their rendition of "Pick Up The Pieces", it's epic. There is a wealth of jazz talent in Japan, both home grown and quite a few expats from the US and Europe. As always Jamel, another great reaction. And I'd like to mention that Emi reminds me of another great female keyboardist, the legendary Patrice Rushen. There is just so much great jazz and funk coming out of Japan. Other artists you can check out are Uko Saxy, The Sax Triplets and Foxy. They would slay in any of the great jazz clubs here in the US.

Tokyo Groove Jyoshi has gone through a number of incarnations over the years and this one with the original rhythm section is my favorite. Juna Serita is a monster on the bass. She is currently playing in the Jazz Avengers with Senri Kawaguchi on drums, who can hold her own with any jazz drummer anywhere. If you liked this you want to check out Tokyo Groove Jiyoshi doing *Tower of Power's What is Hip* with Shinobu Kawashima guesting on the Tsugaru Syamisen. Epic!!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWWZpYuNrdmmnLs Another good one for your show would be Juna Serita's solo single "Funk You" Yeah, you will _really_ like that. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5a6k3R8bq1mrdU&ab_channel=JunaSerita

@@jamelakajamal How is it that a channel like Rob Squad Reactions can continue to post three music reactions every day, seemingly without problems? Heck, they posted a Led Zeppelin reaction a few days ago, and it's still up. What are they doing differently?

Jamel please take the advice of those that have posted here about Juna Serita. You really should go down that rabbit hole. If you do start with her work on the album Chi Might II. Found on YT channel Sina-drums. You should listen to the songs Put it on, Good Day for the Blues, and Rock N Roll has Died. She plays bass for Andrea Munteanu's cover of ZZ Top's Sharp Dressed Man. She along with Rita Nishikawa put their own little spin on Wild Cherry's Play that Funky Music. She performs with the bands Muses and Jazz Avengers. She also has released her own albums. If you like instrumentals check out her album Battlefield.
