@James-712 and Periera has no grappling. You're comparing him to Jose Aldo? That guy has better TDD than Islam. Izzy got periera on his back. But he's going to defend takedowns against the guy who easily outgrappled Jan who easily outgrappled periera? What are you basing his TDD on? KOing Jiri?

@american1207 Every round starts on the feet. Ankalaev will be diving for the legs immediately. Fighting like the pu**y he is. Like a chicken he tapped to paul Craig. Ank only outgrapples bums like Smith and blachowicz, who had trash defensive grappling and got embarrassed by Glover. Pereira is a Phenom athlete he can pick up things faster than the regular person. Pereira by Guillotine choke round 3
@matheuscmiranda
@matheuscmiranda Ай бұрын
How long will they push this story that Ankalaev is a top wrestler? The guy has terrible numbers in attempts and success in takedowns, his stand-up fight is below everyone Alex has faced in the world in the category. Poatan moves up to heavyweight, gets that belt and ends his career as GOAT.
@american1207
@american1207 Ай бұрын
He is a top wrestler in that division. Who's outgrappling him? More KOs in the ufc than Hill and Jiri, 3x as many ufc wins as Jiri. What are you basing any of your statements off of?
@matheuscmiranda
@matheuscmiranda Ай бұрын
@@american1207 He doesn't have a single win against a top-5 fighter, the most he could do was draw against Jan, and even in that fight he could barely withstand the leg kicks, imagine when he receives Alex's kicks. Another thing to consider is that Alex has been improving his ground game, it won't be as easy to take him down as people think.
@american1207
@american1207 Ай бұрын
@matheuscmiranda neither did Khalil. Neither did Strickland. Neither did Islam. Ank has more ranked wins than Hill and Khalil combined. Has a 5x longer unbeaten streak in the ufc than Jiri had when he got his title shot. What is your argument? You're just blindly assuming Periera has drastically improved his grappling but can't fathom that Ank can ever improve his stand-up? Yea you don't sound biased at all 😂

This fight proves Alex is way more durable at 205 where he doesn't have to cut 50+ lbs because he just ate Khalil's best shots and didn't even stumble and kept coming forward. The first one he was caught off balanced. Clear contrast to when Izzy actually wobbled him. Not saying he didn't feel it but he clearly was fine enough to keep picking him apart little by little. Khalil is also really fast for a light heavyweight.

@codyle3709 Alex being a weight bully really helped him against Izzy. Alex had that size advantage. If he didn't have the size advantage which was roughly 30lbs, then Izzy would beat him more easily. You can't have it both ways
@codyle3709
@codyle3709 Ай бұрын
@@hybrid.catastrophic.impact6071 Duh. Size obviously matters. That's the point I was making in the first place. He's way more durable at 205 compared to 185 where he's weight drained. At 185 they are like 50/50 vs each other. At 205, Alex would probably win 90 percent of the time against Izzy. "LeBron James could not dunk a basketball if he was average height instead of almost 7 foot." What kind of non point is this? lol. If Alex had the same build or frame as Izzy, his fighting style would not nearly be as effective. He tailor made it for his own physical attributes just like any other athlete.

Poatan doesn't put himself in bad situations on the ground by trying to get up. He grabs the wrists and holds on for dear life until the end of the round. Nah. There was definitely a skill gap between gap between Pereira and Roundtree. We saw it on full displayed the fourth round in their boxing when Alex start going back to the basics with the jab and slipping all of his shots. And even through out the fight early on, his range and distancing was better too which is why he never came close to being finished. He was always just out of range asides from the two landed in round 2 which still ate for breakfast. Khalil is going to land some stuff because he's fast and athletic. Not really a skill attribute. The head kick was just not the correct strat for Khalil so Alex pulled something else from his toolbox and made adjustments and dominated with it. If you go back and watch the fight, Khalil had big success within small portions of the rounds he won. That being said, Rondtree had tremendous heart.
@JR-bw3tr
@JR-bw3tr Ай бұрын
Wait hold on champ Roundtree did have a good shot at the belt I guarantee you better than any of the top five in Alex's division but that's my opinion as well even though I don't think Roundtree won the first round I'll give him the second but I think the first round I got to give it to Alex but again Roundtree he hung in there this is going to at least move them up from number eight to at least hopefully top five but we'll see much respect to Roundtree he's a dawg
