Funko Fusion - is it Worth Playing?

I have to agree. I was so disappointed and this was my most anticipated game of the year. I was expecting it to give me the same level of fun I had with Lego Dimension back in the day but nope. It is unecessarly frustrating to play. The lack of any sorts of map means you do a lot of backtracking, trying to figure out where you should go next. I started with the He man world and it was particularly frustrating in that regards. A lot of figuring out what to do next with the game giving absolutely zero help. The lack of checkpoint was incredibly irritating , having a game over means you have to start all over wish makes you want to scream if it's a particularly tedious level. Overall the game is gorgeous to look at but the rest needed more work. I think I was expected the same sort of magic as some of those Lego games considering the people involved but it just was not there for me.

I don’t see these bugs on ps5 version, maybe it’s the PC port very bad… I love Lego like games and this it’s a good addition for me. 😋

I didnt mind the game, Yes there is bugs but it's enjoyable game if you enjoy lego games imo. Hot Fuzz boss fight was disappointment but the little jokes from the movie was a joy and the giant swan haha. I agree to wait currently unless you really want a lego game and played them all.

I bought this game because I do have over like 400 pops. Also I did enjoy the Lego games growing up . But I’m only playing this game for the trophies now . Such bad mechanics and bugs

To me it was amazing that they made the only demo for Steam, I thought they would care more about the PC release. The demo worried me because it had so many issues. At least they made a mellee button popup now when you have to mellee someone, in the demo you had to figure out which key was the mellee attack etc. They made improvements since the Demo but... Yeah :( Little popping of objects, my main issue is the performance, I disabled Motion blur but it turned back on somehow, but also RTX3060 OC, Ryzen5 2600, 32GB DDR4 and it selected Medium settings, I run on 30-40FPS. The game itself is really fun, not the best but like... when was the last time we got an Umbrella Academy game? Or a Scott Pilgrim game? Or even a The Thing/Battlestar Galactica game etc. The maps to me are like shorter versions of the Lego game maps without the building, the main annoying thing to me is the infinitely spawning enemies that just knock you off all the time while doing puzzles, the main mechanic of the game is trying to find what you have to do while enemies always knocking you off, it was the worst so far on the first Scott Pilgrim zone with the fire monsters and the dragons boss in Scott Pilgrim. But then again... the game is full of filler, like the skater boss in Scott Pilgrim where you have to defeat the 3 stunt doubles... which is a really cool part, there's aDonkey Kong like part even, but then you have to fight the boss... and do the Defeat the 3 stunt doubles again while the boss keeps hitting you... and repeat this 3 times. If I wasn't really into these multi-crossover games or didn't like most of these franchises I'd just wait for sale. I'm personally now waiting for a patch before I continue playing

I admit I'd love to have seen a bit more in what I've played so far. Jurassic park was pretty lengthy but HotFuzz is pretty rushed and samey so far. I like the characters and the visuals and environments too but I would like to see a bit more progression and objective variety. Vehicles being all over the place but not being able to drive them is a bit weird too after hearing all the Lego comparisons. Don't regret buying it or the fusion funkos for their codes though and I will definitely get the platinum. I think the thing to do with the game is play the franchises you know and love first, then go on to watch the shows and movies the rest are based on before playing their worlds because the callbacks and Eastereggs are the biggest redeeming factor of the game so far.

My only question for the game is how come their no voice acting for it. Even in the cutscenes. Astro bot didn’t have voice acting much but their robots. I do think it could befit the game

Was going to buy it day 1 but will wait for bugs to be fixed and hopefully patches to be made. Funko knows what they are doing. They want you to invest all your time into the game grinding and hopefully making some sort of micro transactions at some point.

Great video. It is baffling how awful this game is. I bought it for my kids, who got bored with it in 30 minutes. I thought, it can't be that bad and gave it a try. It's worse. In my first 2 hours, I had one level I had to do twice because it glitched out, and the sound would turn on and off randomly. At one point it turned completely silent for almost 5 minutes. I honestly do not think this game was even QA'd. On top of that, it's incredibly boring and repetetive. I've been trying to slog through it because of the collectibles and certain worlds I want to unlock, but it just makes me sad.

Said "achievement" bug is not present on console - at least not on the Xbox Series X, where i play this game. But i have to admit that i agree with a lot of the negatives you pointed out. I actually pre-ordered this game, because it houses a lot of franchises that i absolutely love, but i just finished the entire Jurassic World (which i started the game with) and it felt more of a chore than anything else to play through all the five or so levels. I pretty much looked forward to play with M3gan, and the folks from The Mummy, as well as everyone available from TWD and Masters of the Universe, but as it currently stands, i just can't see myself playing this game as much as i originally planned to, because i just don't enjoy it thus far.

@@denisrutz the game is just paying homage to movies. If you watched the film hot fuzz and Scott pilgrim . It’s extremely identical. Never said the game was fun. I said Scott’s mission was good. It was faithful to the movie and the score and soundtrack were dope. The gameplay mechanics for this are shit just like any lego game before. Anyone that says those are quality games are delusional

I’m glad you’re enjoying it but it’s not complaining too much when you get stuck on buildings that are supposed to be there during a boss fight but the buildings don’t visually exist yet they have collision enabled

It's so bad I've already put it on ebay, the machines not saving how many bits you've put into them really angered me. I struggled to even get it to install at first too on ps5. Also not being able to skip cutscenes on replaying levels and the bug where you fall through the floor and have to hit x repeatedly to get out, this is all well and good but there's no animation for falling through the floor so it looks like a bug 🙈

Indeed - that there's almost next to no tutorials on pretty much anything, isn't exactly helping to make the game any more enjoyable - i've only completed one out of seven worlds so far and i pretty much lost any will to play on, because it felt a lot more of a chore than actual enjoyment.
