Just when you think you’ve found every channel, one pops up that feels like it’s ya birthday 🥳

Good content, just shows the average Joe can do it with out the dipping process,witch most people can't get access to,great work with minimal workshop
@funksterdotorg2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Whenever I see dipping videos I am envious of the result, but it definitely doesn't make much sense for a low-value car like an MGB.

I have just acquired a stripped 1967 GT that i will be restoring over the next few years. I will be following your progress keenly

You're a braver man than I was. When I saw potentially terminal cancer on my BGT, I decided to make it someone else's problem. Too much work, not enough time for too little return on investment and ass pain. Your rockers appeared to be in decent shape, so count your blessings!

It's not the first time this car's been restored, I guess these sills are only about 30 years old... man, time flies. Definitely still way more work than it's worth financially, but this is the car I've got!

Very nice work . Good to have sense of humour !

I've just discovered your channel. Very impressive work. You clearly know what you are doing and talking about. I'm looking forward to watching you restore her over the coming months.

Thank you! Hopefully I'll make some more progress soon :o)

That front corner looks great - definitely worth the effort. Welding upside down - BAD, Tilt-O-Tron - GOOD, although you're braver than me moving the car whilst on full tilt.

It was fairly well balanced when I first jacked it up, but having removed both front wings etc. it is now decidedly rear-heavy and it's a bit sketchy. I put one of the wheels in the engine bay as a counterweight :oD

Great videos.. Love your sense of humour and obvious skills. Thanks for posting the videos I'm really looking forward to seeing more. Cheers

Saw this one in the past. Still a great reference vid. I wonder how far along you've gotten? The tilt device is also neat. "Why would there be a wiper motor in the way?". But of course ! Lol Take care and thanks again for taking the time to make a video while doing all this work.

I haven't made as much progress as the march of time might suggest, having run out of motivation and completely ignored it for 2 years. I'm back at it now though, for the moment at least!

@@funksterdotorg I understand. No problem. Still a great video. I'm doing house repairs/maintenance now, so I'm off the cars for a while. Such is life. Cheers!

Nice work. I had to do a similar thing with my B GT. In all over 30 panels replaced.
@funksterdotorg2 жыл бұрын
And there are so many delicious panels on these to go rusty! What's the front valance on yours, an ST one?

Great vid. Keep up the good work I've been doing my bgt for 11 years, without a garage and I'm a bigger cheapskate than you. Good tip with the Phosphoric acid. I must have used a gallon of Kurust, oh the waste of money now. Great delivery and humour and good filming/ lighting. Keep it up, I'll race you to finish.
@funksterdotorg2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It makes sense to be as much of a cheapskate as possible, even when mint these cars aren't worth the money we pour into restoring them. But it's the one that I've got! Good luck with yours, let's see who's on the road first :o)

Thnx for sharing this project. My "B" will probably need the same attention in the near future. It's nice to be able to see the backbone parts of the car, that you just can't see without severe disassembly!!! Good job. I don't know if you completed all the work yet, but I hope you can drive it soon. 👍

Great video, 2 questions where did you get the sump (T-series) from and the acid. Cheers
@funksterdotorg Жыл бұрын
I made the sump (see the 3 Hot Rod Tech Bits episodes covering it), and I bought the phosphoric acid from ebay! :)

Was the weld broken on that nut or was it never welded into place?
@funksterdotorg2 жыл бұрын
The real 5/16 weldnut was present and correct, but for some reason the guy who installed the wings had put a 1/4 bolt through it and somehow managed to get a nut on the other side. My guess is he had the entire wing fitted up and bolted in place and then found that the hole in the scuttle didn't line up, and needed a smaller bolt to clear.

Stick with it, man. And I don’t just mean the car. This is first-rate writing and TV-making. Also, my wife finds you attractive. Or she did until you turned your head. The facial hair is apparently a dealbreaker.

😄 Seriously though, thank you for the support and encouragement. And please tell your wife I said hi.
