Thank you for the tracks! Are there any tutorials/recommendations for getting better at jamming and improvising?

start playing slow my man, play simple phrases that sound good to you and over time, as you're getting better at articulating yourself, start exploring notes outside the pentatonic scale or blues scale, but never underestimate what you can do only using these scales, they are very powerful (even jimi himself played almost entirely pentatonics throughout his career). Another important thing to keep in mind: the time between phrases matters, you don't need to keep soloing 100% of the time, that don't sound very good in blues. Repetition is also very good, call and response, there's a lot of tutorials on youtube about that, but honestly you only get really good after listening to a lot of greats (bb king, jimi, stevie ray, buddy guy, freddie king, chuck berry) and spending a lot of time playing. Try to watch a lot of live performances, so that you can see the way their hands move through the fretboard, that helped me a lot, along with youtube covers of songs I love.

oh another tip that helped me a lot: you don't need to finish every phrase with the root note!

I got an Epiphone 58 V with Toneriders, a Marshall Origin a tubescreamer and Rat and an aweful life to wail about. Life is good! Relatively speaking...
@nowyoushred12 сағат бұрын
Yeah, I definitely have a soft spot for the Rat!
@221b-l3t6 сағат бұрын
@nowyoushred I didn't get along with it in the beginning but now with an old style Marshall, gain around noon and volume on max, with a TS pushing the Rat, I'm getting fantastic tones.
