1/2 way through that game I was hoping we'd get shutout so Denny would get fired. Loved him, and he did well with what the organization gave him, but his choke in '99 was the last straw IMO.

And the Vikings came oohhh so close!! to signing Dan Marino instead. George was never coming back to the Vikings for 2000. Dennis Green was seriously POed at George's performance in the divisional playoffs vs the Rams. Particularly when George fumbled a snap and made no effort to recover the loose ball. Green couldn't get him out the door fast enough after the season.

Typical Vikings. We beat them in 1999 and 2001 but get blown out 41-0 in 2000 in the nfc championship. Vikings can never win when it matters

Heck the 99 game was played in WORSE weather than the NFC CG. And most of that team won there in a playoff game in 97!
