127 starts, that's roughly 8 seasons as starter, for 4-5 of those seasons he was running for his life, tracking down balls snapped over his head/snapped before he was ready, carrying this franchise on his shoulders; and what's left is the 2007 season (first full season) and 2014 (Catch No Catch). Yet look at what he produced on the field in 127 starts despite those 4-5 seasons. He kept this franchise from being Cleveland Browns level bad and got a bad BSPN narrative/rap against him for it. Most underappreciated player there's been.

He's my favorite player of all time. That game where he had a comeback win with broken ribs and punctured lung should be talked about much more. He has no rings because he didn't have help until late into his career. He would have got the ring in 2016 if he hadn't got hurt. He was playing the best football of his career and he would've had Zeke and that monster O line protecting him. Karma will haunt Dallas for awhile because of giving up on him for Dak.

This was my greatest fantasy football win ever. As this video starts I am down 5 with Nick Folk (DAL K) my only player left. I needed the Cowboys to: 1. score the TD 2. miss the 2-pointer (OT is no good, opponent has BUF players) 3. recover the onside kick 4. get into scoring range, and then 5. make at least a 50 yard FG (worth 5 points in our league) All in the last 24 seconds of the game. Basically every single play had to work out in my favor, including getting the pass to Owens overturned by replay (because that FG would have been too short). It all happened in that exact order and I won on bench points. It was more thrilling than winning the league.

Cool story! Right there with you on the elation! I can give an opposite story. My team was up 9, needed 10 to cover, 10 seconds left in the game, clock stopped, 4th down, chip shot range. So did they kick the gimme field goal? NO. Didn't kneel either. Just handed off for no gain, turning it over on downs. Not only that, this wasn't a fantasy football situation. I was in a Vegas sports book; fill in the rest. The pain! The pain!

@ericmcgowan1993 how many points did the cowboys defenses give up in those post seasons? Romo only had a top 15 defense one year in his career. He carried them to the playoffs. Some of those years, cowboys had no business even being in the playoffs playing against far superior teams with top 5 defenses. Jerry jomes fromt office was more to blame. But yes. Romo wasn't as good in the few post-season games he played in. But only one of those games I would credit Romo for the loss with a bad interception to end it. You’ve got a solid player. Finishing a game winning drive is important. Tony Romo wasnt blessed like Dak was with talented team's. If Romo had this current talented team, im sure they would have made it to the NFC championship or SB.

Facts, the number of times Romo had to chase down balls snapped over his head or had the ball snapped before he was ready was insane and yet he still kept Dallas relevant every year. Just one SB and he'd have been 1st ballot HoF...

Romo's offense was good except the running back and if he had the defense like Dak they would of had several super bowls.

This is game is a PERFECT example of Romos entire career. Dude gets picked 5 times, sacked twice, does nothing til the last quarter, then squeaks by with a win. They won this game, and lost all the ones that counted

During Romo Time with the Cowboys, all I heard was, “He Sucks, they need to get rid of Romo, Romo isn’t no franchise QB…etc. etc. etc.” I was like this is actually an amazing QB, His accuracy is on point and he is a tough ass QB. Almost reminded me of a John Elway or even a Joe Montana. But because QBs can’t do it all, and Defense CornerBacks are allowing the opposing team to constantly score, it always put the Cowboys at 50-60percent on seasonal wins. Now that this guy is gone, the timing is very off, because the team that fits Romo now is this 2024 Cowboys, but of course Dak is not Romo and that is just how life goes. Big Shout out to you Romo, I will forever believe you were the Truth, but the team you were given wasn’t 💯. My favorite memory of your best game was when you and Payton Manning had a QB showdown against the Denver Broncos. Almost reaching a combined 1000 yards between the both of you. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😀😀😀

I will always have great appreciation for Romo playing his heart out. I never felt the Cowboys were out of the game with him. Unlike now. With Chunky Soup dude, soon as the Boyz get behind I feel that's a wrap and turn the TV off. How about that SF game were Romo came off the bench with two cracked ribs and a lung injury to bring Dallas back to tie the game and win it in overtime? Romo was a real warrior.
