using a plastic plate for the baby head thing was actually better than what they did because they seemed to indicate you could put a real succulent in the head. In order to keep a real succulent alive you need some form of drainage so they're not sitting in water always. You could use a nail or something to poke a hole in the bottom of the plastic plate to create drainage, whereas a ceramic plate would require a power drill and some skill to not absolutely shatter it. There's an infamous "just drill a hole in the bottom of a teacup for a succulent planter" hack in the plant people community that has shattered many a beautiful teacup, it's not as easy as it sounds to drill ceramic.
@d.d.d.a.a.a.n.n.n Жыл бұрын
If you do want to drill ceramic, you can buy a special bit for it. I make ceramic mugs, and when they don't turn out how I planned, and can't be used as mugs, I drill holes in the bottom with a masonry bit - you need both water to lubricate the bit, and also you have to oscillate the bit as you drill, unlike the way you would drill through wood
@mdipeace Жыл бұрын
I drill teacups all the time. With the right drill bit and technique it works fine. I do lose one once in a while but rarely.
@petloverspyАй бұрын
To be fair, you CAN keep succulents alive in pots without drainage, it’s just more difficult and less forgiving about any mistakes in watering. Drainage is absolutely recommended though, in this case I would likely put a small plastic pot with drain holes inside of the baby head so I could easily dump out any excess water.

@beckyhop13 Жыл бұрын
You know, I think the hand meatloaf thing COULD have turned out better if whoever's making it just used an established meatloaf recipe instead of plain ground meat. For one thing, a decent recipe would actually call for FLAVORED ingredients (even if it's just stuff like Worcestershire sauce or onions or something), and for another thing, most meatloaf recipes also call for binding ingredients like eggs and breadcrumbs, so it'll keep its shape just fine and you could probably just shape it by hand (pun intended) instead of this freezing-in-the-glove nonsense that's probably making the flavor blander and more watery. That would make it more difficult to wrap the bacon completely around the hand, but I don't think that's necessary? Just layer it over the surface of the loaf, maybe get just a little underneath it, and it'll still look good. On the topic of the bacon, I think turkey may have been the wrong choice here, but it's also possible a thinner-sliced brand would've worked fine here, and I get that not everyone has the option to go for pork bacon. Of course, none of these problems are FunkyFrogBait's fault, and it's all on Five Minute Crafts for being shit at everything. Source: Mom and I have made bacon-wrapped meatloafs for years, and they almost always turn out delicious

The difference between pork and turkey bacon in this particular usage is that the pork bacon can be stretched and will actually stick to the raw meat whereas turkey bacon is like a slice of wet silicone- you can't bend or stretch or tuck it good. If you don't have the option of using the pork bacon I'd recommend leaving it off altogether or maybe laying just a few slices of phyllo dough over the top and the fingers as bandages instead.

Personnaly, I didn't get a positive answer from google, like some websites say it's safe, but some say it isn't, smoked meat is safe, cause it has been cooked by smoke and even tho turkey bacon is cured meat it appears that it should be considered raw until it's cooked. So, I came to the conclusion that you shouldn't eat raw turkey bacon, unless it's smoked, because not everyone agrees that turkey bacon being cured makes it safe, therefore to be safe, I would recommend not eating it raw, just in case.

my favorite feature of the youtube timeline bar is the "most replayed" visual that always ends up being the end of the in video sponsored segment so that we can all just fugging skip it.

I’ve actually done some of these! Like probably a decade ago I had my friends over and we did the jello worm thing and it was really fun! We also did something kind of similar to the meatloaf, except for we used our own meatloaf recipe (so it had actual seasoning) and we shaped them into heads and used onion and bellpepper and olives and bacon to decorate it like a zombie face. They came out kind of cool looking

Watching them just nerd out, make non-kosher jokes and make awkward crafts while bemoaning the terrible crafts with one zinger after another - i could *LITERALLY* watch them do that for hours 😂😂😂 [Edit: ... forgot to mention the occasional dribbling of a southern/old- timey accent. ] Gold.
