An individual hitbox can only hit each individual character once, so once the up smash hits Hero while metal it won't hit Hero after either. If it was a multihit it would've worked.

Another reason why Blast KOs should be removed from top blast zones: 0:40 It creates horribly sub-optimal plays just because, and only because, your opponent got lucky enough to not be sent to a Blast KO. Scenarios like this or the Hero Hocus Pocus taunt wouldn't happen because we would know ahead of time that "hey, this will Star KO/Screen KO, so I better make this more optimal than to go for an upper blast zone KO".
