The one thing you need to understand is that when you go to a football game you are not going to watch a show. You are going there to be the 12th man (since a team in the field has 11 players) and it is your job to keep the spirits of your team alive and to try and intimidate the opposing players and make them make mistakes. Everything is allowed except things that are illegal. rhythm of already popular songs with your own text inserted in. That's how people that never heard a chant before can pick it up in less then a minute and join in with the chants. So, a small group can start a chant and if it's good enough the rest of the stadium can join in. "What a waste of 40 quid" - This match is so shit yet you wasted 40 pounds to watch it "If you're watching on the tele you're a c**t" - That's basically an insult to the fans that didn't come to the stadium to watch, probably because there were empty seats left. It's not a very serious thing, despite the language used. Yes, even in the streets. You really should watch "Ultras, our way of life" and "Why ultras are so important for football" to understand the mentality and the culture better.

They're just having a laugh. Football matches often have prolonged periods of not much happening so it develops from that, and long journeys traveling to games. It adds to the vibe, a lively atmosphere can make a rubbish game enjoyable. I used to go every week as an 11 year old singing the old favourite "You're going home in a Durham ambulance" to the other fans. I never hurt anyone, it's just fun for the vast majority.

I find it hilarious when I watch a American react to Football chants. What you need to remember is it's tradition and pantomime. The Football Players 90% understand this. Now and then you will have a incident where a football player loses the plot and attacks the fan. These chants are extremely easy to follow, simple tunes simple words, it's embarrassing when you try to start a chant and no one follows, that's happened to me a few times but more often than not everyone joins in. In English Football the home and away supporters have thier own stands so that's why you will see tlstands having ago at each other. The chant about if you are watching on the tv you are a c u n t is not aimed at every single person but a certain group of so called fans who have never been to a live game and only started following the team because of Success. There is so much context. It's important to know that Jimmy Saville was a tv presenter from Leeds that come to light of is extremely disgusting pedophilia. So when fans of any team play Leeds, they sing about jimmy saville to wind up the Leeds fans
@liamwilkinson99022 жыл бұрын
Everyone knows the verses and tunes and some of the words vary depending on team. The sister is your mother is actually the adams family theme. Everyone knows the tune which is why everyone is in unison, one or two starts it and people join

😂😂 Bro it's just humor! but this kind of songs are specific to England. in Europe in the stadiums we don't have filters in our songs. going to the stadium is to let off steam! you can shout and insult nobody will look at you strangely or criticize you. and when you see a stand that insults other supporters it is surely the fans of the other team so it is the game between us. and there are also real serious rivalries which have unfortunately already caused deaths... football and really a lifestyle or even a subculture. continue your videos, each time you kill me 😂😂 and you react to big player, not just messi and CR7 , thats cool !
