I've done similar stuff in algebra 1 and 2. idk why, but I always find shortcuts by accident(probably because im decent at seeing pattern and on online homework when you get a problem wrong it give you a "similar" problem which is basicly the same question same ideas same way of doing things just diffrent numbers so i just get it wrong a bunch of times and look for pattern thats how i found them), like they could have been accual formulas that I found because I even found out when it did and didn't work, sadly I don't remember what it was just the general idea of what you were supposed to do for it to work
