Rehna hai Tere dil mein? Madhavan has serious temper issues leading to him being violent and aggressive. He tells dia Mirza that she should understand that he is a good man cause he never tried anything with her when he could have , the balls since he impersonated her fiance cause he loved her. Loved her when he just had seen her silhouette ( didn't even know her), deceived her, manhandled her and then too she decides she wants to spend the rest of her life with him. Wow.

That "Dhadkan" moment could be a case study...Here the mother has upbringed her child in minimal resourcesand poverty, which has made her son to be an arrogant and harsh person, but him being with Anjali gives Devs mother some sort of comfort about her son's well beings after her demise in future. Seeing Suneil Shetty's characterisation in the movie he is inclined towards Shilpa's, Anjali so much so that he thinks that whatever happens Anjali will surely come to him. Even when his father insults him in his house he believes that Anjali is gonna be with her. As Dev's mother knows her son's ineffable affection towards Anjali, she is sure in her mind and heart that her defeated in life son has at least that girl, to whom Dev can rely on. Even after her demise, her son will be taken care of. But! When the news breaks her balance on which she was standing gets shattered, and for an old lady this can be a life threatening shock.

In movie Dhadkan, the mother and son were both living in pain and isolation. They had no one other than Anjeli to see their bright future and in the scene where Anjeli and the mother meet, the mother says it all. So clearly a mother lost all hopes for her son after Anjeli left.

Jammy, I am not sure if you have covered this - but I recommend the movie “Suhaagan” - a Sridevi, Jitendra and Padmini Kolhapuri starrer (from the 80s, I think). The stand the movie takes on the opinions and choices of women is over-the-top. The only part in the whole movie I don’t agree with is Sridevi leaving her infant behind (she should have taken her baby with her, IMO, because the child was too young). But, other than that, I actually agree with a lot of things Sridevi says and does. But our Indian movies toh… you know! Try it if you haven’t already done so. You’ll get some cringes for sure!

I think as threatening of suicide were given for love acceptance a lot during the 90s movies, the scene in Ranjhanna where the instance takes place was also during the same period, as films influence a lot to life and masterful projection by Anand L Rai; I feel was a great presentation, and the second suicide attempt was after post rejection, which was not a threatening but a trauma, still happening... I have seen Ranjhanna previously mentioned in your videos with the same issue as in this video, and as you have a sensible choice of movies, and great passion towards it, I just thought of wiping out a dark unworthy thought you have towards this masterpiece.. I'm not indian but my wife is and I've leart hindi and I watch Bollywood movies with her with subtitles. After three years I can slightly understand hindi or punjabi. I found it funny how Bollywood makes me laugh with logic and science. Nothing beats the high jumps during fight scenes. There's one film of Salman Khan where he's a cop and he's doing all kind of funny shit during fights. I just laugh.

For dhadkan, I’ll call it timing....because in real life too, many people die of sudden cardiac arrest and heart attack without any known reason or without having any medical history...who are even considered healthy....my cousin died in his late thirties this way.....enjoying vacations in hill station with his wife and kids, suddenly suffered two massive heart attacks and died on the spot within seconds....he had no known medical history and had routines like a healthy athlete
