Met Ed in Edinburgh a good decade or so ago when I was working at the comedy festival. Really nice bloke, even off duty. ❤

I love his nerdy comedy. Jokes about grammar, interplanetary trash talk (that I understand), and correcting the rocket scientist joke.

Rewl nerds dont play CoD. They play EU4, bridge and chess.

While I agree with the original sentiment, I'd say that the moment nerds become gatekeepers, they stop being a group you can proudly be part of. In the beginning, we banded together because our interests were niche and we got bullied. Turning into the bullies now and making fun of people for their hobbies and interests is antithetical to original nerd culture.

@@DrZaius3141 nah, Gatekeeping is a good thing and if you don't understand why its a good thing then you are part of the problem.

You can't complain about the encores, Ed. They're part of English culture (required and encouraged, no less), and they're included in the pay.

Isn't a nerd who Isn't smart enough to be a nerd a geek?

By my (admittedly arbitrary) definition, geek refers to someone who is really knowledgeable on a topic, and a nerd is someone who has dorky and/or socially awkward personality traits on top of that.
