isn't it usually the first officer who handles radio communication? meaning Bruce was first officer for that part of the flight? obviously they have to have a full crew, so they would need at the very least another captain. am I correct?

+Kane K Well, either Captain or FO can handle everything on the aicraft. They usually change the tasks on departure and arrival. If Captain flies on departure, FO will fly on arrival. But there's no rule there ;)
