I am Portuguese and I am never late. I don´t believe that we are bad drivers either. We like to drive fast and get things done. A little aggressive on the driving, but not bad. I don´t use sugar, but i have noticed that Portuguese like the sugar. And yah, Portuguese people tend to park anywhere. I hate gossip, but noticed that the older generations, especially women, do tend to gossip a lot. I think it derives from a time when there were no tv´s, radios and other sources of entertainment. So, people chatted with each other in their free time.

We don't drive badly, we're a chilled people, just not behind the wheel... besides that when i drove in other european countries, I've noticed that they don't drive good, they drive slow and with fear... There's only one very selective group of people allowed to talk bad about our countrie which is us... no one else is allowed to... yeah we use lots of sugar, lots of fat, and we eat a lot several times a day, and yet we have one of the lowest obesity rates in the world. and our heart deseases are basically because we're very chilled and layed back, so exercise is... hard... Plus i do understand exercise during winter but the rest of the year... only a nuttcase would exercise with 35 of 40 degrees...

My answers 1-True. 2- Never knew that. 3- Me too. Always results in my having to drive faster. 4- True. 5- I would say that about all European and South American Men. Not so in the States because we have 2 footballs. Football and Soccer but Soccer is called Football outside of the States. That's funny that you say that about Gun because I had already mentioned to you that Europeans will stop everything for a good game of "Football". That sounds as serious as religion. LOL. 6- Me Too. Got to have my coffee. 3-4-5 cups a day. Fresh ground Columbian beans. I wish I had an espresso machine but they are very expensive. 7- That was also don3 in the USA when the TV had bad reception. That is not done today. It was from the time when TV's had tubes in them and rabbit ears for antennas. Have not ran into very many Portuguese people outside of NYC. My friend from Brooklyn, his name is Manuel and he is a Mason. The best bricklayer I know. He restores the front of brownstone buildings also. By the way, I am not Portuguese. I was born in Brooklyn, NY and am English, German, Irish and French. Or as is sometimes said, a Mutt, which is a mix of nationalities. 8- Good explanation Gui. New Yorkers can't stand "Bad Drivers". Some might say that we are bad drivers or as Guilty said, we know where we are going and we know the roads and sometimes speedboat I think it is more a product of your environment. If I hang with bad drivers, their bad habits might rub off on me. New Yorkers do have their own opinion who are bad drivers and I can't compare us to other countries but we do compare bad drivers to the Chinese and Hasidic Jews and NYC school bus drivers. But I have not lived in NYC for over 10 years. PS...Gui defends Portuguese drivers as though he is a lawyer, Ha Ha. 9- I have heard of Italians putting Annisette or the Greeks put Sambuca in their espresso. USA is regular coffee, black or with cream and sugar. Coffee after dinner is mostly a restaurant thing. 10- I would think that's true for most countries and it means they are Proud of their country. Same here, very much so. The saying is, "The grass is always greener on the other side". Gui speaks like a lawyer. He should. Your talking about Portugal and it's citizens so he is sticking up for his country and fellow citizens. Not unusual. 11- I've heard that but in crowds, everyone speaks louder or you won't be heard. Cute. 12- Said like a Proud Portuguese Man Gui. 💪👌. USA is mostly 2 sometimes 3. 13- Bread is a personal choice or how you were raised. If there is sauce for dinner there better be a nice loaf of bread to soak it up. Yummy. 14- Cute, as in where else would they be, they just answered the phone. USA is Hello and then maybe a name to announce themselves. 15- Ingenious, 👨🎓👩🎓🤏✌Funny. Need an example. Gui has great comebacks.💥 16-That could be called keeping up with current events, LOL. Every community has a "Block Mayor" and who doesn't like to hear who is in trouble or fooling around with who. Definitely is an individual trait. 17- Sugar is an individual choice, or it could be heritage. I like Columbian fresh ground coffee with sugar and 1/2 and 1/2. 1/2 and 1/2 is a lite cream. Some people drink their coffee with no sugar or with no milk or cream. 18- In the USA,we do follow the rules of parking law because if we do not, we will most likely get a monetary ticket,(a fine from the police), for illegally parking. It is something we are used to because there are so many cars in this country, parking is well thought of if you choose to drive. There is also new technology the government uses and that is using recording cameras at intersections to see if a car passes through a red light or even speeding. Then the ticket is mailed to the car owners home with a photo recording the date and location of where the event occurred. Sorry to comment for such a lengthy paragraph but I think it will help you understand Gui and the USA a little more. Europe and the USA are quite different but I can see this is a sore subject for Guidance as he appears to have lost interest towards the end. That's understandable as it is his country and people that you are speaking of. It will take some time to acclimate to your new country and people but tell Gui that the items that you mentioned are not meant to detract from Portugal or it's citizens. It is just a friendly observation that you have noticed and you are looking for feedback from the viewers. Now go kiss and make up. Ha Ha. These questions were fun and I hope I was able to give you an opinion that agrees both with Gui and yourself. A fun video Grace. Gui, since it has been 2 years since this video was made, I hope Grace has started to drive, speak and park like a Portuguese person and that her world also stops when you say, "I have tickets to the Football game". Now both of you guys go out and get a great cup of espresso. Thanks, Gerard

Here is my Portuguese soccer team, Gui...kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJLZi2VrrLJpjZI 2. Portugal does have a second Sport that it's obsessed with and it ties into the worst trait of the Portuguese on a Societal level...that Sport is Auto Racing, especially Rallies!! And, it's from this Sport that every Portuguese (Males, primarily) once behind the Wheel fancy themselves an Auto Racing Pilot. I've spent many Summers in Portugal and the Havoc and Mayhem that isn't a Joke, I've seen the devastation of those roads...reason why I won't retire there. 3. Believe me, I've traveled through many Portuguese Villages and I often felt like Clint Eastwood in those Spaghetti Westerns...I walk into a Cafe or Tavern and first comes the hard-looks, then the Gossip, even though they don't now me from Adam...all become (Male and Female) Yentas!

I also use my indicators and It is true that a lot of people indicate only when they are ready at the turning point instead of indicating well in advance. As if they just do it because the law says so and not because they are concious that one must indicate to other traffic we are going to make a change of direction well in advance. Driver instructors if competent, should bang their pupils heads if they do not do so from the start.

Cumprimentos
