I once met the host of this show at a local country club. He was just as nice, funny and gracious in person as he was on TV. Now, that's rare, don't you think?

Truth be told, Bob Eubanks was a dick. He and the writers would put women on the show who weren't necessarily the smartest or well informed, and took delight in asking questions that would be embarass and demean them. Example (late '70's): "Ladies, in your neighbourhood, in what direction would your husband say the sun comes up in the morning?" As if Eubanks was a Rhode Scholar. He used to go out in LA wearing his Fonzie outfit, i.e., black jacket with white T shirt underneath. Waiters would laugh at him behind his back.
