✨Hello KZbin Universe!! Welcome to Funny Squirrel going up the Slinky Episode. this is the funniest Squirrel vs Slinky Compilation on the internet. Squirrel VS Slinky, in this video we will show you several videos of the squirrel climbing up to a bird feeder. We tried petroleum jelly, and the squirrel would climb up and then jump on the ground and roll himself in the mulch to clean himself from the Vaseline then was able to climb up to the feeder. Then we tried the slinky and it worked for a few days but then he figured it out. then we added Vaseline with the slinky and it only stop him for about one day because he figured out how to climb it.
This squirrel is very persistent and he never gave up so he earned his snack. I hope you all enjoy
watching this funny video. It brought many laughs to my heart.

To actually stop the squirrel.... Place a 4" diameter PVC pipe over the metal pole. Squirrels can't climb that. Several years ago I had a bird feeder on a pipe. Had to add the 4" PVC pipe to stop their climbing up the pipe. Then they'd run across the top of a swing set and "fly" to the bird feeder. I moved the swing set back about 1 foot per day until none of them could make it. Great entertainment, and it really pissed off squirrels.

The harsh feeling Wedding Tulle that goes on the veils worked for me to keep the squirrels out of my garden. Not the polyester kind, it’s too soft. They don’t seem to like it. Now I have to keep the snails out. Pool filter sand doesn’t work. Beer in a Tuna can in the ground attracts them n drowns them but I have to get some more. I gave to go out at night and catch them crawling and under the wood I placed out there, then smash them with my little digging tool. Or put them on the cement and salt them. It’s a Pain! We are fully organic n won’t use petroleum or pesticides. ….n organic cold pressed neem oil didn’t work very well. I haven’t tried vinegar or essential oils this year cuz I’ve had things not do well after being sprayed with it in the past years n didn’t seem to help much anyways. Maybe when I used that stuff we did not have as many snails n slugs as we have now but it killed a few herb plants n I don’t want to do that. And moths laying eggs n I’m finding a few worms. I’m Pretty diligent in killing these pestilence but it’s still a pain. Oh and I squirt the squirrels with a hose n it scares the tar out the of them , it’s funny, n so they really don’t care for our place much. They mostly stay away but I don’t have nuts n seeds anymore. The peanuts underground rotted on me. And the seeds are all sprouted now n they are big plants now thankfully. The tulle saved them. But those evil squirrels kept eating our seeds in the garden n was making me not like squirrels anymore. 🙏🤍🕊🙏🕊🤍🙏

haha - It is hard to outsmart a squirrel. I managed to do it years ago using a 6" stove pipe attached to a 6" diameter round piece of wood cut from a 2" x 6" board. I have a video of that somewhere on my channel, but it's probably hard to find. Squirrels gave up long ago and just remain on the ground. They cannot cling to the 6" metal stove pipe, and the board blocks them as they crawl inside the pipe. They know who their daddy is. LOL. BTW: Drill small hole in pole and insert small nail that the board sits on. Then use screws to attach the pipe to the board. The pipe is 2-3 feet long I think. You have to open the pipe to place around the pole and then connect it again (which is a slight pain if you've never done that before). Funny video. Always fun to watch squirrels outsmart us (or we try to outsmart them).

I tried one. I had a plus one which I paid 149 bucks. I made it as difficult to climb up the pole as well. I was wondering why feed been going down faster and faster. So one day I woke up early and I saw a squirrel not going for a ride. I was like wtf?!? So I took it down to give it a full recharge. It s the weekend so I watched TV and kept an eye out. The squirrel some how climbed up the pole and hung on for a moment and landed on the ground. He took off and about 45m later he came back with two friends. They were tag teaming to kill the battery which imo doesn't last long. I took it down, empty the feeder, cleaned it, packaged it, and brought it back to the store I bought it from.

I LOVE IT!!! I am a wildlife care taker and I have raised hundreds of different types of wild babies, from baby bats to raccoons to squirrels and they are by far one of the smartest, they love to play and what you had done there became a fun game with a reward at the end. Ha ha!! Chasing squirrels off our birdfeeder is our dog’s entertainment and exercise! But we found birdfood mixed with suet and ground red pepper in it, which discourages the squirrels. So now our dog keeps the neighborhood cats out of the yard and away from the birds. Got to give him something to do! 🤣🤣 Enjoyed that a lot!

Install a 'rat guard' on the pole about 1 foot down from the bottom of the bird feeders. Leave slinky as backup. Or dig a moat around the pole? Or just put 6 hungry cats out in the yard. Lucky me my squirrels haven't figured out the slinky workaround.

I tried this slinky method. It worked for about 2 days, then the squirrels just tore the slinky apart by bending it to the point where they could just climb the slinky like a ladder.

Squirrels are very clever and can problem-solve, as you see. The trick to keep them from ever getting up? Choose a larger diameter pole, something they can't get their little feet around all the way. As you may have noticed, once the pole has been greased, he clamps his little hands together. Maybe a 4 inch diameter smooth metal pole? PVC they can eventually get their claws into and make a "ladder" of sorts, rather like electricians that use metal spikes to climb wood poles. Yes, they will absolutely remember where these footholds are. Keep a larger diameter metal pole greased with Vaseline and they won't be able to get up. Lose the slinky ladder 😁 In the winter, you'll have to keep it up. Yes, they hibernate, but not fully. Ice is a great handhold for these guys. So, keep the pole free of ice or go ahead and grease the ice.
