The Mauler Twins are most definitely not dumb, at least when it comes to technology and science (their bickering about who's the original might make them _look_ dumb, but that's just their personality). And they're evidently experts at fast cloning, so if Robot wants a fast clone made under the radar they're probably the best people for the job.

I love what this show does with subverting expectations, like you said normally the heroes show up and the tide is turned in their favour no matter how it was going before. but in this it doesn't matter. They are still new to being heroes so they get their ass whooped in most encounters. its refreshing to seem them actually struggle and have real consequences for taking on something they aren't ready for.

I like this episode because it really takes Marks focus down to the everyday. Up until now he’s been doing some crazy stuff - alien invasions, asteroids, space missions, etc. Then he comes down to street level and he gets absolutely demolished by a gangsters hired muscle. (Side note: the lion who kicked a bunch of ass is named ‘Battle Beast’ in the captions) But the whole thing really changes perspective on where real challenges can come from, and hopefully opens Marks eyes to what being a hero can really mean!

Omniman isn't EXACTLY wrong, when he says helping Titan is beneath him. Like, you don't call in the army to deal with local crime, for example. If a world ending event happened, but he was busy dealing with Machine Head (something other heroes not on Mark's level could handle) and didn't notice, and there was no one else to stop it. The Avengers do get paid well in the comics. Not sure why they changed that in the MCU when Stark has all those billions of dollars just sitting around. In Mark's case it really doesn't make sense for him to be repeatedly risking his life to work with Cecil and get nothing in return when the government has pretty much unlimited resources. People seem to want superheroes to be altruistic and above taking money for what they do but they still have to make a living somehow.

Mark was naive in trusting Titan, he was played, used to replaced a crime boss, for another literally.... he didnt save anyone or change anything for the downtrodden... Titan is a good guy for a gangster anyway, but with his skills he could have chosen a honest job, and provide for his family that way.... but that isnt what he does... he uses Mark so he can become the new king pin..... also i give Mark a pass with Amber, they are teenagers, telling your secret like this to a girlfriend from high school, it probably isnt the best idea, so i understand him being cautious with it.

Ah, I think episode 5 is my favorite to revisit. The encounter at the end just shows that Mark and the new Guardians of the Globe can handle some things, but they still have a long way to go. While, yes, they were outnumbered, Battle Beast (the big cat that almost effortlessly thrashed Monster Girl, Black Samson, and Mark) is way out of their league. The only one that seemed to be able to put a scratch on him was Robot's chest laser, which seems like his most powerful attack that probably has some drawbacks. And, if you look closely, you might realize that the electricity guy was taken care of easily by Red Rush in the ending segment of episode 1. I'm sure if it were all of the new guardians against just him, it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but when they split up and tried to handle people, he was really holding his own.

Yeah... you don't need defending but I'll do it anyway: the rules for fiction are just different. Like, if you've read/seen "The Watchmen", Rorschach is a character you aren't supposed to like or root for, he's a black-or-white... extremist? He can't see nuance, and in the real world that'd be crazy and dangerous. But in the comic, he's just fucking *cool*. (The "Rorschach" gimmick is badass.) So... I think you're "wrong" to fangirl for Omni-Man so hard, knowing what we know about him, but I also understand that your appreciation for him, to that point, wasn't the same thing as endorsing everything about him, everything he did. It's cool. You can like him as a character, find him interesting, while also acknowledging that he's not a good person; you can be a good character without being a good person.

Okay, so you've seen all the episodes of Invincible so none of this will be a spoiler: 1 - Like with Rex before him, I thought Atom Eve's dad had a point, even though he was an asshole. Monster Girl shouldn't be allowed onto the Guardians of the Globe, no matter how powerful, because she was too young (although of course, in her case, we later learn she's in her... thirties? Late twenties? So... extenuating circumstances, maybe she oughtn't count. But under normal circumstances, even teens is probably too young, certainly 13-14 should be). With Atom Eve - with any teen hero - they shouldn't solo, they should have somebody to have their back. Of course, Rex maybe isn't the best choice for that... and her dad maybe didn't have her best interests at heart, maybe thought she needed protecting because of her gender rather than age (or maybe both), so yeah... he's kind of, mostly wrong, but he had a point. He was right for the wrong reasons. THAT BEING SAID... 2 - I thought her powers were, like, shields? So I definitely thought her dad had a point; if she's not super-durable or fast or strong or anything, then she definitely needs a wingman to have her back. But then she said she could re-arrange molecules on an atomic level, and like... I didn't think she was lying or exaggerating, but maybe over-simplifying? Until in a later episode she builds a treehouse out of nothing, and it's like... oh, no, she's a FUCKING GOD! So... yeah, why does crime even exist since she has the powers of a God? She could just re-arrange her atoms to be Viltrumite, re-arrange Omni-Man's atoms so that he's a human; she could be the most powerful being on the planet with a snap of her fingers. She could make herself literally invincible, strong enough to bench-press planets... the possibilities are *literally endless*. So... yeah, that's game-breaking. Weird that she wouldn't do that, honestly. 3 - Pretty sure Titan called the GotG, not Omni-Man. He set things up so that Machine Head (better than the rest) would be prepared, but also called in the GotG so that there'd be a fight big enough to wipe both sides out and leave him standing. That was his plan; I'm assuming involving the GotG was part of his plan. I could say a couple more things that are addressed later on since I'm not worried about spoilers, but I guess it's better to wait to see them revealed to you, to see how you react... otherwise I'd just be telling you things you already know, so... you'll probably see my comments in your patreon comment section soon. Oh, one final thing: AMBER SUCKS! Mark definitely could've been more respectful of her; I think he should've told her that his dad was demanding he spend time with him... not sure he could say "training to be a superhero" without giving it away, but if he at least let her know that his dad was monopolizing his time, that would've been a better excuse - and the truth, or at least partly - than the stupid non-excuses he kept using. She still sucks though. I'll leave that for now, I want to tear her down more than that but I'll wait until it's appropriate to do so.

I think saying I have a love for Amber is a bit extreme. I have an understanding of her. I know exactly what it’s like to be in a position of being disrespected like that. Really ultimately what the problem is is that they are not compatible. Neither one want to admit it or see it and of course we do. Mark should prioritize saving the world 100%. I’m not saying he should prioritize his girlfriend. I’m saying he shouldn’t have one. Because if he wanted to be there he would be by not being a superhero. If you want a normal life you have to give up superhero things. If you want to be a superhero you have to give up normal things. It is a classic sacrificial trope of all super hero stories

It's like jack of all trade but master of none, in the end it is always better to be the best at something than dispersing one's abilities. But I guess stories would not last long. And it is so easy to fall to tropes like "bad guy are bad because meany meany men" or "She can't be evil because she is a gurl"... you see what I mean. But I do appreciate that you have a calm and commposed approach in some domains. Just please remember that being harsh on someone without taking time to discuss the matter is bad, and as much as I also agree Mark is being frustrating by not confessing his identity (many plot holes in this story about Super Heroes identities btw) is a common thing nowadays in super heroes movies/series. Honesty is also a trait to uphold and you're right. But as long as it doesn't kill someone or make someone endangered, lying to protect someone should not be treated as same as a crime. Titan is nice and nuanced. He's not innocent by any stretch of the imagination - instead of committing crimes for Machine Head maybe he could have given police or the FBI evidence and had his family placed in WitPro? I believe that he does want to do right for his family, but everyone not a sociopath should so that's not really a justification in my books. Overthrowing 'Kingpin' and replacing him is ultimately a lateral shift - maybe he'll be able to take the edge off the worst things MH was doing, but if he wants to keep the money flowing he'll still need to run a criminal empire to do it. I do believe he was sorry that Mark got so messed up for helping him, but I also believe that if he'd known Mark was going to get that messed up beforehand he still would have proceeded with the plan.

The GDA doesn't really give a damn about jurisdiction and such. Ultimately, though - yeah, they probably would have just locked Titan up. Easier that way.

I don't understand how certain things become hot button issues. You said Amber should respect herself and I'm already seeing comments that say "now's not the time for feminism." Yikes. I don't even think people argue the correct issue, honestly. Just stop making promises that are clearly out of your control, dude, lol. "Don't miss dinner." "Not on my life!" Obviously, we knew he was about to miss that dinner. He's also a dumb kid. So much could be avoided if he'd gotten some advice to say something more along the lines of, "Dinner is my top priority. You know I've mentioned that I have obligations to my family and I've agreed to help a few of my Dad's friends, and sometimes they need me at the last minute or really short notice, and that's the only thing that could keep me away but I'm doing everything I can to make sure I'm not going to be pulled away from you that night. @BryceLK I was already warned the toxic males would have to have their voices heard. A lot of people can see the complexities of Amber and Marks relationship, it’s not black and white. I knew my take may piss off a lot of viewers but I’m choosing to lean into it rather be scared of the conversations. Amber and Mark are incompatible. That’s the headline. He can’t be who she wants him to be, and he can’t be who he wants to be. I’m sure he’d want to be there for her but he just doesn’t have the ability to do that. Of all the abilities that he has being there for one specific person just ain’t it. After learning that she knew he was a superhero, that kind of pissed me off a little bit. Why was she sitting on that info and not approaching him? Or just break up with him because you know it’s not gonna work. I feel like the writing could’ve been a lot better and that whole scenario, but it feels like a real relationship if in fact you were trying to date a superhero and you were not one yourself.

Don't get too lost on the Robot and Monster Girl thing, he just likes her likes her. I think that no one ever had to worry about Marc and his ultimate decisions, because of Debbie. I mean she likely regrets her advice from this episode to him, but still. Oh, and next episode, don't look up the actor voices. You will feel comflicted even though he is a bad guy. And as we are starting the spin toward the end, prepare yourself for the last one.
