I think Crosshair helping Ventress into the ship after the beast encounter was because, much like with himself, Omega asked others to trust a 'bad' person. He's been a benefactor of her faith, so when Omega says "trust her" it means something a little deeper to him than it would to Hunter or Wrecker.

There were some episodes of ‘The Clone Wars’ where Anakin and Kit Fisto used their lightsabers under water when they were helping to fight with the Prince on the planet Mon Cala. You are right, though. The water would instantly boil around the blade when ignited in the water.

Not necessarily. The outside of the blade may be perfectly temperate, with the inside being the part that boils as it cuts. Else we'd see significant heat given off lightsabres when activated.

As Hemlock mentioned earlier on in this season, a Force User's Midichlorian count cannot be cloned with the same level without a relatively high level doner's DNA to replicate/fill in the missing pieces. With Ventress, at the end of the novel Dark Disciple Obi-wan Kenobi and Quinlan Voss take her to Dathomir and put her in a dark pool outside a village the water of which begins to glow green (Nightsister Magick). In short, she was restored to life, like but also unlike the way shown in the Clone Wars episode, "Massacre".

I agree with you about Tech. We all love him, but his death came out of the blue and it was so well done that we really felt it. To bring him back would feel cheap as you say. I don't know how this theory has come around anyway, and there is no evidence at all it is a recognisible clone, so its just wishful thinking from some. On this episode, I love where Ventress is at now in terms of her mindset. She is over all that happened to her, and who she was, and is finding some balance too. Great stuff. We also get her being Yoda to Omega's Luke in Empire Strikes Back; its almost the same scenes to the film, just some of the wording is different. She lies at the end I feel to protect Omega and her crew, as she knows about abandonment and being on her own, and she sees how much Omega means to CF99, and how her leaving them, would cause a lot of pain now.

I believe that line about having more lives is a nod to the little bit of controversy regarding her return. According to the supposedly canon book “Dark Disciple,” she died prior to the events of the bad batch. Many expected some sort of explanation of how or why she didn’t die in this episode and that’s what we got. I don’t know that if there’s going to be an explanation sometime in the future or if it’s just a retcon and that’s the way it is? LOL

A lot of years ago, I was at a Star Trek convention where Michael Okuda was a guest. As always happens with sci-fi fandom, there was someone at his talk who had a question about how something seen in a particular episode "actually worked". Okuda replied that it worked "because it was in the script". I've never forgotten that, and as a very amateur writer, I'm always mindful that characters and situations in fiction will behave as they do for one reason only: they are written that way. And this can (and always does) eventually result in "weirdnesses", like a laser sword capable of cutting through armor plate *not* causing water to instantly sublimate. Which, by the way, the resulting steam explosion would have been... "energetic".

How to piss off book fans: Well, you don't know, but Ventress died in the canonical book "Dark Disciple." It was a beautiful story, and now it's lost its meaning because Ventress faced no consequences; she simply got up. The option of resurrection would make sense (She was buried in the Waters of Life on Dathomir), but that make entire story meaningless. Ventress sacrifices herself for her loved one to return to the light, and she herself rejects the darkness and dies at the hands of Dooku. Now her sacrifice is noble but shallow. (I recommend familiarizing yourself with that story because it's one of the best books.) And this is only because Filoni couldn't show it in the Clone Wars due to Disney, so now he wants to lead Ventress's story in a different way and he doesn't care about books. When that episode came out, I was discussing with many people in the comments what would be the best solution. My conclusion at the time: replace Ventress's character with Barriss. In this case, the symbolism and interactions would be identical.

I’ll never understand why people call the self-sacrificial play “meaningless” if the person doesn’t actually perish. _Choosing_ to willingly sacrifice yourself for the greater good (or even just to save another) is the heroic thing. Not the dying part. And people who choose to risk their lives, even to the point of little chance of survival, every day in real life should not have their choices be deemed meaningless. Is the person who runs into a burning building to save a child _less_ heroic because they survived the ordeal? What’s the math on that?
@hehu40257 ай бұрын
@@AngeloBarovierSD This is about the symbolism and significance of the book and its consequences. Ventress sacrificed her own life for Vos to return to the light. Vos did so and didn't kill Dooku only because he loved Ventress. The death itself is a huge emphasis and symbolism of this tragic situation, almost telling the reader: "This is the end, there's no other option because the character has made the final decision" (that's why I said her sacrifice is noble but shallow). Comparing fictional characters to the real world is quite odd, but I understand what you're trying to say. As a counterargument, we can discuss Episode 9 because the situation with Ventress, in my opinion, is very similar, especially in terms of meaning and symbolism. And I don't care how both characters did it; I care that they died, and now it loses its meaning. I have nothing against resurrecting characters, but it has to be situations like Maul's - death was insignificant, and resurrection is entirely justified.
