@Riz P kinda hard to explain since its a kind of personal matter that everyone thinks of differently. but i think they're referring to the feelings and mindsets and, well, happiness i guess that comes with youth and fades away slowly as you age. the idea is that in heaven you get all of that feeling back, but thats just my interpretation. i encourage you to find your own that works for you and your experiences

Then there's this curious phenomenon called hiding in plain sight where the object you're trying to find is right there in front of you but, for some reason, you don't see it and continue to look high and low. And then, in the fullness of time, your eyes alight on it and you go "I don't frickin' BELIEVE it!"

I've Loved George Carlin since I was about seven years old. He is beautifully hilarious and a gorgeous man in every way. I am so sorry he's gone now although I'm sure he's much happier we sure could use him now in the country of America in 2020. He was like a cool breeze on a really hot day and quite intelligent, how rare that is among comics these days. I love him still and watch his interviews and stand up on KZbin as much as I can. 😇

I got lost last Christmas season in London. It was outside the front door of Harrods when all of a sudden my parents weren't behind me anymore. I held my ground for a bit, then went to look for them. I looked everywhere. The Pret Manger we ate lunch/dinner at, the grocery store we browsed around, back in Harrods, even the nearby McDonalds. Nothing. I was scared. Here I was in a place I had been to for the very first time, and it was nearing Christmas. I thought I'd be lost for a very long time, and I didn't have my parents' switched out cell phone number either. I was on the verge of tears. But then I remembered something I read in my first ever "Boys Life" magazine. When you're lost, you don't panic. You STOP. That is: Stop. Think. Observe. Plan. I had to get back to my family, and the best way I could do that is if I could get to neutral ground where they were sure to come to eventually. But where would that be? Then I remembered the Ibis Hotel we were staying at. If I could get back there, they'd surely come there in time to reunite. Problem was I didn't know how to get back. I had to find a way to get to the hotel. I didn't have my phone, but there were still those payphones nearby. With luck, calls to the police and emergency services were free like in America. I made my way to one that was working and called. The police officer listened to my story and asked where exactly I was and what I had seen. I told him we had been to Westminster Abbey so he directed me to the nearest Ibis Hotel. Unfortunately, that wasn't the right Ibis Hotel. But I went inside anyway and explained the situation to a receptionist. She called several other Ibis Hotels until she got the one my parents were registered under. She then told me to tell the workers of the Underground Subway System to direct me to the nearest train station to our hotel. It was dark, but I found my way to the subway, asked for directions to where I needed to go, made it to the right Ibis Hotel, but my parents weren't there. The receptionists assured me that after awhile they'd come back to the hotel and after an hour or so, I heard a knock on the door. Imagine my happiness to be reunited with my parents who at one point I thought I might never see again.

This was one of his craziest (energetic) performances that I’ve seen so far, especially in the last 30 seconds or so.

Or my favorite saying is, I'll find it when I'm not looking for it. That's exactly how I find things I've lost. I find them when I'm not looking for them.

True Story: I once lost a $100 poker chip while at the casino. I had 4 pants pockets. Two regular pockets and two frontal pockets. I reached into my pockets probably 100 times. Over and over again. It wasn't there. A few months later I wore the same pants again and...you guessed it...the $100 chip was back in the pocket. My mind was blown. I am convinced Carlin is right. Sometimes things just do in fact disappear for a while and go into an alternate realm. And then come back : )

He does another bit similar to this discussing the difference between lost and missing and it's brilliant, like doesn't missing violate some form of physics, you might be missing from where you should be but not missing from where you are, lost is different, YOU'RE the only one that knows, truly awesome

When I was a kid, I would ask my mom where something, whatever, is...She would counter my question with.. "Well, WHERE DID YOU HAVE IT LAST". And you know, as I get older,,,I usually FIND IT,,,and it was WHERE I HAD IT LAST...She was one amazing woman...;)
