So great. Well done. I notice that someone has “disliked” the performance. It makes me wonder exactly what they were expecting from a ukulele version of Fur Elise. 🙄

Love the arraignment, been practicing the first section for about two weeks now and I discovered I prefer a variation on the bit just before the harmonics. I like to do a single string run, G- 2 B-3-5-6-8-10 and that keeps the rest of it on the lower two with the variation note being on the top string in play at the moment, ie B string. That single string run is harder to get to sound smooth though, but I find the sound of the arpeggios after more pleasant and the shift to the harmonics bit is fun from that position.

@@pirvumaria4863 Hey, KZbin blocked your comment as a 'potentially spam". I've just approved it. Sorry for the delay. I clicked on the channel you have 1 video. I'd say: grow right hand nails, alternate your right hand fingers when playing notes on the same string, and improve your timing a bit so the phrases gel together (in other words, don't wait too long between each phrase)

Fur Elise was written in A minor. Is it easier to play on a ukulele in G minor, or is there a different reason this version is transposed? It definitely sounds pleasant to the ear like this. (Asking as newbie to the ukulele)
@MKFingerstyleAcademy9 ай бұрын
Yeh, for a piece like Fur Elise (where we can be less philosophical about the key decision in my opinion) it is more important to be playable than make it sound like the piano. If we wanted it to sound like the piano we should just play it on the piano. When arranging, you always want to ask yourself: is this playable, and does it sound idiomatic? Playing it in G minor gives us access to those harmonics (a minor wouldn't) and it super smooth to play fingerings wise. Hope this helps

What do the and mean in the tabs? Ive never seen that before. I know its something to do with harmonics but not specifically what
@MKFingerstyleAcademy Жыл бұрын
They're like you said, harmonics. The fret tells you what type: 12, 7 and 5 are natural. any other fret would be 'artificial' or 'pinch' depending on how you want to name it. Both types are discussed in Ukulele Fingerstyle Basics course both as a technique, and as tutorial for Fur Elise, check it out!

God damnnn, This is the best and only full version of the song I can find, but it's in a different key to what I've learned already 😭😭 is there a way to if I bought the tab to transpose it up 1 whole step?
@MKFingerstyleAcademy Жыл бұрын
Why would you transpose it up a whole step? I chose G Minor because its the only key that allows you the large register range that accommodates the piece. Any other key and you'd lose it. If you're using a Capo for the other key, just don't! Anyways, yes you can transpose it but you'd have to know theory, or if you have Guitar Pro I can send you the GP file and you can transpose it automatically using the software, but then you'd have to re-fret the whole thing
@just.off.the.a4208 Жыл бұрын
@@MKFingerstyleAcademy only because I've learned this upto the 19ish bar in the original key of Am. I feel it'd be easier for me to continue learning in the same key, and beneficial for me to understand transposing of the tab Thank you
@MKFingerstyleAcademy Жыл бұрын
I'd say this would be a great slightly difficult project to pick up and understand transposing. I'd say it is a bad idea to do it because you want it to stay on the same frets. We can chat about why over a lesson if you'd like! I think it is ok to transpose a piece to a key you're comfortable in to start with, but I'd say if a piece is readily available in a playable and organic key then you shouldn't transpose it. The G minor gives you open tonic, while the A minor doesn't...you gain a lot by playing it in G minor and lose quiet a bit in A minor. With that said, any piece is playable in any key unless it is physically impossible!! Best of luck! send me a video when its all done
