Guys I love your content but the issue isn’t that Furiosa is or isn’t a girlboss. The issue is the film is called Mad Max yet has nothing to do with Max, but instead is yet another male franchise that shoehorns a female lead. Stop feminizing male movies and stop defending this just because she isn’t a “girl boss”. It would be one thing if this was a brand new IP called Furiosa and the character got her own unique story and set of movies. Like Ripley in Alien, Sarah Connor in Terminator, Catniss in Hunger Games, Selene in Underworld. They were all female action heroes but it worked because it was their own IP. Why can’t women come up with anything original anymore instead of taking over male brands. Stop replacing men

Two points: 1) I agree with everyone who criticizes this movie for having "Mad Max" in the title with no Mad Max, however, I also understand if the moviemakers did that as a sort of shorthand to inform the public that it takes place in the Mad Max "universe." 2) One of my major judgements of movie quality is if it can keep me immersed in the story deep enough that I don't notice the passage of time. I consider the recent Kingdom of the POTA a good movie because I did not notice or care that it was 2.5 hours long; however, POTC: At World's End had me constantly checking my watch. If these two dedicated movie fans say that Furiosa is too long, that's a valid warning to me.

I thought it was ok. Way too much CGI would be my biggest complaint. Understandable where it's used but there seemed to be so much use of filters, green screens and effects where it wasn't warranted. The CGI fire was getting out of hand for sure. It didn't feel gritty in a lot of parts, but still a fun and enjoyable summer movie. The Wicked trailer (which felt out of place before a Furiosa movie) was easily the most annoying thing I've seen in a theater in a long time.

I just don’t feel compelled to see this in theaters. Fury Road was decent and entertaining, but I just didn’t feel like I needed a Furiosa back story. I think most people are fans of Max the character, not the dystopian world full of insane, chaotic tribes struggling to survive where very little should survive. I don't mind Fury Road as a stand-alone film, but it feels like a complete departure from everything that came before it. Likewise, Mad Max, the first film, stands alone now that any version of societal structure has been long dead or forgotten since Max raced into the wasteland. Thunderdome insisted civilization might still exist and be worth finding again; aka it offers hope, Fury Road abruptly ended any notion that civilization is even possible. Whatever happens from this point forward, this franchise will keep racing in the direction of other IPs like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings; a divisive mess of black hole plots and unimportant characters placed on pedestals.
@Crismar20237 ай бұрын

Most people are completely oblivious to the fact that Fury Road was a hardcore feminist propaganda movie, and nothing more. I missed it too at first, but let's take a good look at it... What is it about? It's about a woman who rescues other women who are made into sex slaves by a tyrannical patriarchy. This is first made evident when Furiosa rescues Imortann Joe's prized sex slave wives. Upon having discovered this, Joe enters the vault where he confines his wives against their will, and scrawled upon the walls are, " Who Killed the World?!" (Meaning..."Men caused the apocalypse with the violent and greedy nature), and "Our Babies Will Not Be Warlords!"...(Meaning, our babies will not be slaves to the patriarchy). We're then shown a scene in which more women who are confined in a disgusting birthing chamber, who do nothing but eat and breed...because that's all the men let them do. They are just a means to perpetuating the tyrannical patriarchy. Then we're shown Furiosa stopped in the desert, where Furiosa wields a bolt cutter, and removes the locks on the chastity belts that the wives were forced to wear, and we're shown the chastity belt dramatically falling to the ground (as they shed their sexual shackles, and are symbolically freed from the oppression of the will of the patriarchy). This is where Max meets up with the women. Max has been used by the patriarchy as nothing more than a blood bag, and for some reason is donning a muzzle fashioned from a trident...that he can still eat, drink, and breathe through? What is the point of a non-functioning muzzle?...well, it's further symbolism...it's to show that Max is to be muzzled throughout the first half of the movie. Max is given the tools to free himself from his muzzle (imprisonment) by Furiosa...in the form of a hand file...where he foolishly attempts to free himself for quite some time. It is later discovered that Furiosa is taking the women to "The Green Place"...a utopia free from the tyranny of men. Max then joins in the fight to help the women (becomes an ally)...and when Imortann Joe is defeated, the last scene in the movie shows Furiosa and the women symbolically rising on a platform, to assume the role of the new leaders of the land, while Max looks up at them in reverence from the ground. There is also the movie poster, which shows Furiosa in the foreground, while Max is pathetically muzzled in the background. The whole movie is a feminist wet dream. Max’s role is essentially to remain muzzled until he agrees to become an “ally”, then he is given to the tools to free himself from oppression, and then he gets to help the women rise to power. That’s it. And then there is the quote from George Miller himself in Vanity Fair magazine..."I’ve gone from being very male dominant to being surrounded by magnificent women. I can’t help but be a feminist,”. Fury Road is not a Mad Max movie. It is just, yet another, hijacked feminist propaganda movie. George Miller sold out.

Disrespectfally disagree with everything take Mr Gore has on this one. The beginning was captivating the whole way through. There was no need for a kissing scene, and and the whole film was fascinating. Except the very ending did kinda drag out a bit. Strange choice to go that direction from the film makers. Regardless I give it a 9/10. Was a fun time to spend.

I dont see how this film has anything to do with mad max. This is a different concept completely removed from mad max.

I loved it. Not sure what these guys are crying about. The dogshit in the theaters that we get week after week and something great comes out and they bitch about it. Don’t worry guys the theaters will all be closed soon and you can cry about that next

It’s a no from me. I will not watch any new movies that has a woman in the lead.

Yep, same here. They have burnt that bridge. Same with any movie that has race/gender/orientation swaps.

@@ScoobieDoobie197474 seen those, great movies. But that’s different - now all movies HAVE to have a female lead in order to be made and I am so done with check box movies and movies that panders.

I could not get into it. It did not have the “look and feel” of a mad max movie - in think it was the over use of cgi, not sure. Fury road still had the mad max vibe, but this one was just not that good.
