Let's not forget that Mad Max is a niche franchise, and Furiosa was a spin-off. Of course I still expected a little bit more income. It's a shame. But I watched it in cinema two times, so I did my part as every Mad Max fan did their part too. I hope we can see Wasteland one day, the last Mad Max movie from Miller, the problem is that Miller is not young. The clock is ticking. :(

This is the best performance of Chris Hemsworth’s career. I always knew he was a great actor outside of Thor, but he absolutely stole the show every single time he showed up on screen! And Chris told the best description of this franchise ever on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he said “Americans have Star Wars, the UK has Harry Potter, and Australians have Mad Max”.
@ChipJones421Ай бұрын
watch Bad Times at the El Royale if you haven't (also a great early performance from Caley Spaney and a badass Jeff Bridge). Cabin in the Woods and Bad Times were signs that Chris Hemsworth had something special waiting for the right director to bring it out.

It’s ashamed that the movie sadly flopped at the box office, it’s my 3rd favourite film of the year next to Deadpool 3 and Dune Part Two, it’s also really disappointing that we won’t be able to see Mad Max: The Wastleland too, maybe they can do a television series for HBO

"Immortan Joe" is also a kind of slang corruption of the language, but it also has a slightly different origin. The Immortan Joe's real name is Joe Moore. He used to be a military colonel. This is explained in the comic books that came out when Fury Road was released. He didn't establish the citadel. It was run by a different group when he finds it, and he also tries to take it over but doesn't succeed at first. Then he kind of comes back from the dead before taking it over in the end. So that's where the immortal/immortan comes from. And his real name also fits the title. Joe Moore Moore Joe Immortan Joe A different actor plays Immortan Joe in Fury Road. The original actor (Hugh Keays-Byrne) died in 2020. He also played the villain in the original Mad Max movie which came out in 1979. All the mad max movies are directed and written by George Miller.

There always was, is, and will be war The Sumerian fought the Elamite. The Saxon fought the Viking. And so the histories grew. There were the wars of the roses, the oranges, the opium wars. There were the one day, the six day, the thousand day. North against south, east against west. The first, second, third, countless wars of religion and righteous belief. The oil wars, water wars, a tri-nation nuclear war. The battle of the boom towns. And now, my dears, the forty day wasteland war

All the Mad Max movies in the Mad Max Saga are connected. Max is a "legend" of the wastelands, his story usually geing told by other people in the wastelands who encounter him. Thus, explaining any "discrepancies" in the narrative. The first story is just told. Mad Max II is a recounting of an encounter by the aged Feral Child, who became leader of the Guzzalean People. Thunderdome is being told by one of the Lost Children from the crash. The Fury Road stories, Max is more like The Dude in "The Big Lebowski". He is just there while the Fury Road stories are about Furiosa more.

Also, was great to see the reprising actors playing their roles, and the recasting for those who had passed away was great. Watching the movie a second time, this really feels like a graphic novel come to life. It has such a comic book look, and especially with the film broken up into chapters/parts.

I kind of like Dementus' insistence on punishing her by using her bad arm being the reason she escaped. I like to think that her arm just simply ripped off under her weight, it wasn't really of her own doing. You can see the way it ripped off wasn't clean. Dementus being his own downfall is much more thematically interesting.
