@@FrmDa505 that would be harmful to the story tho, to make a movie just for one actor. There can't be a Gambit movie without an establishing X-Men movie first, which means he has to be the X-Men Gambit, which means aging up Rogue too to not make it weird, the relationships with the rest of the x-men change, which is... so many story changes just to get one passionate actor to play his part, who is gonna be 50 years old playing an originally 25-ish year old character. i appreciate Channing's love for Gambit, and how much he fought for him, it sucks that Fox fumbled him so hard. @Blind Wave The Wolverine with the big hair and black onesie in the alleyway was Logan from "Age of Apocalypse." If you look closely, you'll notice he's missing his left hand and his claws extend from his stump. That's because Cyclops shot his hand off in this universe and Logan retracted his claws JUST in time to prevent them from going with the hand. Because he was able to retract them back into his forearm, he still had them after Cyclops shot the hand off. Also, another cameo was Head-Pool who was played by Nathan Fillion. Oh and Fun Fact, if I'm remembering it right: The whole slowed down version of "Like A Prayer" at the end of the movie when Wade and Logan are being vaporized by the Ripper was actually Madonna's idea. If I recall the story correctly, Ryan brought the script to Madonna to pitch to her using "Like A Prayer" for the big Deadpool Corps Fight Scene. She absolutely loved the idea. But then as she was going through the actual climax of the movie where Wade and Logan sacrifice themselves, she was like, "You should bring it back here." Ryan was like, "What?" She was like, "Use 'Like A Prayer' here as well... but slow it down." Ryan's head just about exploded at that idea. Now I don't know if they just actually slowed down the recording or if Madonna recorded a slower version just for the movie, but yeah, all her idea. Shows how well Madonna knows cinema and her own music to know that would work and just how well it would work.

Why did Scott shoot Logan's hand off?
@ForeverDegenerate2 ай бұрын
@@madisonwhovian943 They were on opposite factions in this reality. Scott was part of Apocalypse's Elite Mutant Force (EMF). Logan was Weapon X. It's been a while since I've read these comics, so I don't remember the exact reason Scott shoots Logan's hand off, but I seem to recall it having something to do with the fact that Jean chose Logan over Scott in this timeline. Which, let's be honest, Scott did that to himself by agreeing to become Apocalypse's lapdog. Also, in case you're wondering HOW Scott shot Logan's hand off, this Scott doesn't use a visor in this timeline, at least not anymore. He uses a single eye piece. That's right, this Scott is ACTUALLY a Cyclops in this timeline in that he shoots out of only one eye. His left eye was lost in a fight so all of his Optic Blast Power is now concentrated through his right eye. So yeah, take Cyclops' Optic Blast and condense and concentrate that into an Optic Beam and that's the kind of power we're talking about being focused into one point. Adamantium or not, Cyclops is taking limbs with power like that.

This movie was 75% fan service, and I'm 100% okay with that 😂 A fun fact about the Deadpool Corps casting of Kidpool: it was supposed to be Walker Scobell (the kid from Adam Project, and massive fan of Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool -- he even auditioned for Adam Project with a fully memorized Deadpool monologue). But that kid hit puberty and his voice dropped before filming, so they couldn't use him as a kid's voice anymore. So instead... Kidpool is played by Ryan Reynold's actual real-life daughter 😂

Second time reaction is totally valid. I caught so much on my second viewing that I'd missed the first time. That's how movies are, in general...you're meant to revisit them, and get more out of them the more you engage with them. And ESPECIALLY in a movie like this, where there's so much going on, from easter eggs to massive fights, that's even more so the case. There's no way to absorb everything in a single viewing.

Director Shawn Levy said in an interview that the one Wolverine variant they couldn’t get in the final cut was an ACTUAL Wolverine, and the joke was Wade shows up in the woods and after he goes up to it Deadpool gets absolutely mauled. They came up with the idea late in production and there was not enough time or budget to get a realistic looking CGI wolverine to use in the scene. Also the other variants are: Genuinely comic accurate short king, YES Wolverine is 5’ 3” in the comics Crucified Wolverine from Uncanny X-Men 251 Patch, which is Wolverine’s alias when he goes undercover in fancy places “Glam Rock Logan” is Wolverine from Age Of Apocalypse And finally the classic John Byrne brown and tan outfit is from when Wolverine first fought The Hulk in the comics.

It's kind of amazing how much this feels like a sentimental goodbye and salute the Fox movies kind of deserved. They weren't perfect, there's a reason Deadpool's swipes against them land, but there was good in them. Somehow, giving them a sendoff like this, via Deadpool of all things, FEELS right. The thing that I find so fascinating about this movie is that it is so respectful to the comics and the characters. A character and movie like Deadpool, who mocks everything, and yet somehow the movie doesn't make a joke or diminish the characters, the way it handles Blade, Elektra and Gambit are so well done. It makes them real characters that even with their limited screen time, are interesting. For as many jokes as Deadpool makes about Gambit, this is one of the most incredible portrayals of the character put on screen. One of the things that I really hate about a lot of the more recent superhero shows and movies is that it seems like the filmmakers are making fun of the characters and the comics that they are adapting. Like they're trying to say "Hey we know comics are stupid but we're making the movie anyway." (Looking at you No Way Home laughing at the name Otto Octavius)

Isn't the whole "anchor-being" just a metaphor? Basically, it's when an actor retires and then the franchise slowly dies. Example is Robert Downey Jr. when his character died in Endgame. The MCU still is going on, but it's slowly ramping down. Deadpool's remarks such as "you're joining on a bit of a low-point", "this multiverse thing is not working" proves that. Also the reason why Logan is the anchor-being in the X-Men universe. Ever since he retired from playing the Wolverine, the franchise never got back up on its feet.
@yannickvaz6942 ай бұрын
It's a bit of 2 things. 1) Yeah, it's definitely a metaphor. Exactly as you said. 2) I heard that Kevin Feige asked Ryan Reynolds to include "anchor beings" into the movie. With RDJ returning (as Dr. Doom), there's a good theory behind it. Most likely Iron Man was the anchor being for the MCU. The future plot is that RDJ (or Tony Stark) will return, but instead of being Iron Man, he's Doom (leading to the secret wars/doomsday movies). It seems that they could be planning something like this
@Hudson16152 ай бұрын
