No one hates this movie. It was well reviewed by critics and by fans and by KZbin channels. Just because very few people went to see it in theaters does not equate to people hating the movie; it equates to people being indifferent to the movie and/or unwilling to pay the price for a movie ticket. I'm sure it will do great on streaming. That's when I will watch it.

I thought Furiosa was planned years ago, way before Fury Road was filmed. Miller wanted Sigourney Weaver to play Furiosa like a decade ago, but due to various issues, the film was delayed so much that they just went ahead and do Fury Road first.
@soridosuneku7 ай бұрын
Interesting. He omitted to say that in a recent interview if so (or forgot), because he said Furiosa started as a backstory for Fury Road so the actors had more to work with. Otherwise some of the behaviors the characters did would seem random

Most people I know won’t see it cause the Mad Max world is not compelling to them. They don’t care about the people in it in particular. To them the reason they liked Fury Road was more about the execution (loud cars, explosions, etc) than about the characters or their struggles. And without someone really cool like Charlize Theron leading it, there’s less reason to watch this. They don’t really care about this new chick. And as for Hemsworth, he’s hardly a draw when he’s not Thor.

Okay, I guess I must run in some really different circles than other people online. I know it didn't make a lot of money at the box office but who is out here hatng on this perfectly acceptable film? So far Ive been seeing pretty good reviews and that it has a 90% on IMDB. I dont think its as good as Fury Road, but then nothing could match that movie, but this is a good solid film. It needs to be watched back to back with Fury road to get the full effect. I saw this one and went straight home to watch Fury Road and its a near seamless match, almost like one 5 hour film.

Low ticket sells doesn’t mean people don’t like the movie, the problem is we are paying all this money to several streaming services which is getting out of hand so I would rather wait to watch it on one of those platforms in my home were i built a theater room. I honestly can’t wait to watch it in the comfort of my home and not be overcharged for everything else. Hollywood is not accounting for that at all.

For anyone on the fence, it was a fun movie and a good theater movie. It'll translate to streaming but it really is more fun as a theater movie. I think its a bit 'pot kettle black' to say that Furiosa is just a prequel to Fury Road, and therefore it is a cash grab, when Fury Road itself is based on IP.... I feel like the arguement completely deflates in that regard. Also, funnily enough, I thought Fury Road was moreso about Furiosa as we dont know a thing about Tom Hardy's character (I think he had something like 15 lines??), whereas the film Furiosa---- funnily enough---- was moreso about Chris Hemsworth's character, and in this film, its Furiosa who has the smallest bits of dialogue (Hemsworth was f*ckin spectacular, btw!)

George Miller wrote Furiosa before filming Fury Road and was even thinking of making and releasing it first, but due to budget and time constraints did not, but he did let Charlize Theron read the script to understand her backstory when filming Fury Road. This is anything but a cash grab and is similar to the Star Wars Prequels that George Lucas wrote part of and wanted to release first before the original trilogy but also delayed due to budget and technological limitations. The cash grab angle is a “Bad Take” on George Miller and team, although I am sure WB greenlit budget hoping to make money.

Revisionism much? First of all, Fury Road wasn't a smash hit, it failed at the box office, but it found its audience later on physical media after winning 6 oscars. Second, Furiosa was written even before Fury Road started filming. Third, despite knowing the fate of Furiosa, the film is so well made, it makes us feel like anything can happen. I loved the movie and now many claim it's another "Go woke, get broke" case when it's actually the victim of real woke predecesors pushing a bait and switch narrative with a strong woman as the lead. The righteous pay for the sins of the guilty. This is one of the many reasons Hollywood is in crisis: they teach the audience to mistrust certain projects, and now the public is not going to the cinemas even when the movie is good. They just wait for it to be on streaming, or dismissnit all together. R.I.P. Hollywood!!!

Furiosa is exactly what I wanted; more of the 2015 Fury Road format. George Miller depicts such distinct cinematography in Australia with Mad Max. The epic nature of the franchise is worth exploring with detailed world-building. The various factions, locations like the blue-tinted, stilt trodden remnants of the ‘Green Place’, Bullet Town and the Citadel fortress with its greenhouse, encased in that yellowish orange color palette and its intricately designed mechanical ‘steampunk’ technology. Fury Road's an action movie at heart, while Furiosa sinks its teeth into the world with storytelling (albeit still having tons of action). The studios shouldn't have delayed this by a decade. Hopefully George Miller gets another crack at it!
