I really hope Shogun starts a new trend of high budget, period political dramas. That’s the type of entertainment I really want to see more. Dramatized versions of real historical events, introducing us to cultures in a way we’ve never seen before. That’s the kind of diversity and representation I would love to see more of. To a modern, western audience, feudal Japan almost felt like a fantasy setting and it was so thrilling and exciting to behold. Now I wanna see a show that takes a similar approach with the Mongols, the Incan, or other ancient cultures.

Interview with the Vampire is one of the best shows out right now and it’s insane that they’ve been virtually ignored by the award shows. I don’t know what AMC is doing because they’re literally sitting on gold. I hope with the show’s season 1 going to Netflix it pick up a little more traction. It’s just too good to be brushed off especially season 2. 😮‍💨

There were some things I enjoyed about season 3. Ice chips and Napkins are INCREDIBLE episodes. However... the season didn't go anywhere. In the other two seasons there was a goal and it showed how the cast met that goal as well as character development. The Bear season 3 didn't really have any of that. It didn't seem to go anywhere. I also feel like they made Carmy just a super unlikable protagonist. He was likable in the first two seasons... but I didn't care about his writing in this season.

I don’t think she will win, but Hanna Einbinder’s performance blew me away. There are not many actors who could go toe to toe with Jean Smart’s Deborah Vance. She pulled it off with such humor, anger, and heart that it made me root for her character even when I maybe shouldn’t. I didn’t know where they would go after season 2, but the finale of season 3 was one of the best episodes of television I’ve ever seen.

Im sorry, but Red White and Royal Blue is like nominating a Christmas Hallmark movie for an Emmy. Its a cute film but its total cheese and nominating it feels like rewarding mediocrity. Like imagine if Fellow Travelers goes home empty handed but that movie takes a win? 😢

I was hoping GAGA CHROMATICA BALL would get a nomination. Gaga put so much effort into the show and the film. She honestly hasn’t sung, Danced, etc in such a a way on any of her other Tours. She really proved why she is selling stadiums, her stage presence was incredible. I highly suggest anyone to watch it! It’s one of the best tours she’s ever done! I almost booked the show as a dancer!

She needs to get for flack for this imo. There was a viral post circulating about a lady Gaga fan whose relative had contacted COVID and passed away due to the lack of safety concerns at a Gaga concert. That type of behavior shouldn’t be rewarded

She was literally near none of us 😭😭😭 Listen I was the first to tell everyone around me to get vaccinated and wear masks etc. but by that time (2022) if you didn’t get vaccinated or take precautions etc, that was your own fault. If said people didn’t feel comfortable being in a crowded stadium, they would have either worn a mark or stayed home. Again I fully believe in the efficiency of vaccines (I have a link to vaccine efficiency in my IG bio). She was literally so far from any audience member considering she’s on an elevated stage with camera set ups between the first row, the barricade, and the stage, mind you most of the show she’s in center stage nowhere near the edge etc. also the dancers had the choice to be part of the show or step out for 5 shows. I know them and have worked with the choreographer, firing them for saying no would be idiotic considering they would have had to pause the tour and teach new dancers the choreography.

@@justaguy4402 i think the 1994 is generally closer to the first book in terms of location and time period. But there are some omissions (Louis’ brother, the whole storyline in Eastern Europe). The movie does not take in consideration the true nature of Louis and Lestat’s relationship but they have an excuse because it was not explained much in the first book either. Claudia is the best part of the movie for me. Cruise did a great job too. Queen Of The Damned is the worst of the bunch because it’s so far away from the original story, it’s ridiculous. The show is somewhat close to the first book BUT closer the subsequent books because some events get revisited from other vampire’s povs. So the show is different from the first book and 1994 movie because the later books revisit what happened in the first one. So you have these changes. Then there are some other changes that are new to book readers as well but more often than not they are even more interesting… for example the complete rewrite of the interviewer and the revisit of Claudia’s turning. They add a bunch of scenes for the Theatre de Vampire. They change Lestat’s timeline a bit and his actions make sense in the show, especially because they are still very much tied up to QOTD, but they are different from the first book. Generally the overall plot stays the same in respect of the spirit of the story. If you can appreciate a good adaptation, you will enjoy this one. The actors are fantastic, chemistry between them is unreal. The writing is a mix of book quotes and some witty jokes. The show is heavily scripted. The score is amazing. So for me, it’s worth watching.

In terms of the animation category I just wanna give a little shout out to scavengers reign if you haven’t watched it It’s one of the best science fiction shows I’ve watched in recent memory, it reminded me a bit of alien, the animation and world building is brilliant and has one of the actors from Loki in it! If you need an animated show I would recommend giving it a shot. I don’t think it’ll win based on these other shows but it’s up there with blue eyed samurai and x-men 97 for me It went on a bit of a rollercoaster getting no marketing and cancelled on HBO Max and then getting a new home on Netflix

Scavengers Reign is one of the best animated shows I've ever watched and a true science-fiction masterpiece. It's cancelation broke my heart, but season 1 works very well on its own. I encourage everyone to watch it. I know it can be too weird for some people, but it's incredibly rewarding.

For the Emmy Comedy Series -- I'm sorry but though The Bear is good, it already won for this season ostensibly when the last one was nommed. And it's not a comedy! I'd love to see Reservation Dogs, Hacks, or Only Murders win. Reservation Dogs was great all along, got almost zero recognition, and had a fantastic final season; it is dramatic, but the comedy elements are stronger than The Bear. Hacks is fantastic and well balanced with comedy and drama. Only Murders is almost straight comedy. Any of those would be better than The Bear again.

SNUB: *Interview With The Vampire* OMG PEOPLE. I AM CERTAIN THAT THE PEOPLE WHO VOTE IN THIS SH1T ARE NOT EVEN WATCHING IT! THE ACTING IS SO FUCKING SUPERB THAT IS HEARTBREAKING. A snub AGAIN, 2 seasons in a row show me that these awards mean NOTHING! (I already new that but hope is something hard to let go off) I don't know what you didn't like about Season 3 of The Bear, but it was - in a technical sense - a truly interesting season imo. The character development was not great, sure. But I think it was an interesting season in the technical sense - the cinematography, the sound and song choices, the format of the episodes and I appreciate that. not any show can do that. True Detective Night Country is immaculate. ALL THE WINS! Mr. & Mrs. Smith was an amazing show! I hope the show gets more attention from the nominations ♥

Definitely subbed! It's half in English anyway (when the characters are speaking Portugese lol), but hearing the genuine Japanese gives such an added layer and cadence to the performances. I think if dubbed, some of the dialogue might sound a little hokey because it's very poetic. Having the two different languages also adds a layer when the 'translator' characters don't translate accurately on purpose. Hope that helps!
